Happy Malcolm X DAY!!! This is a very special episode to celebrate the life and legacy of the Black Muslim Minister Malcolm X. He has been an inspiration in my connection to my deen and as well as my acceptance of my race and history. On this episode, I dive into into Malcolm X’s early life before Islam, his family life, his struggles as a black man in America in the 1960s and also his conversion to Islam. And I reflect on the lessons I’ve learnt from him, my own struggles as a black women growing up in Australia and the relationship between my faith and my race. In our first Chamber of Secrets episodes, I had the honour of interview my workshop facilator and event coordinator at the Akhirah Collective. She has been a powerhouse in the success of our collective, helping lead workshops last year. In the true style of ‘Chamber of secrets’ we dive real deep this episode.
