We discuss this in the context of affordability of all aspects of life in NYC: rents, transportation, health care, child care, and the communities that comprise NYC. We discuss how Medicare is being changed to adopt some features of the various Medicare Advantage Plans, specifically, around prior authorization. This is a feature that is particularly unpopular with doctors and patients, but is being tried in some markets: NJ, OH, OK, TX, AZ, and WA. The vendors who perform these prior reviews are paid for denials. This film explores the things that are important in George's life, and what should be important in our lives, no matter the external factors that affect us. As others have observed, this language invokes white supremacists from the past century " including leading southern Klansmen. Vances comments followed the Department of Justice eliminating disparate impact liability from its civil rights enforcement and the EEOC asking white men to file discrimination complaints when they feel victimized by DEI. Its increasingly hard to deny that segregation is the goal.
