Seizing an opportunity to help build a club in a disused Chicago warehouse, a young aspiring DJ named Frankie Knuckles moved from New York City to the midwest to try to strike out on his own and make a name for himself. He did so much more than that — Frankie's unique style at The Warehouse piqued interest around the globe, and music nerds everywhere were soon popping into their local record shops, asking if they had any of "That Warehouse Music." House Music was born.
