Caleb Flynn Trial Day 6: Andrea Kinzig Says Police Skipped WHAT Tip?!

I sat down with Eric Faddis, defense attorney and former prosecutor, on two cases. The first is the Caleb Flynn murder trial in Miami County, Ohio. Alleigha Botner, a prosecution witness and Flynn's former girlfriend, told jurors Flynn said at least once a month that he wanted his wife dead. She testified she gave him a last deadline on January 11, 2026, told him on Valentine's Day she had a date in March, and heard him lay out a Monday divorce plan. Ashley Flynn was shot twice in the head early on February 16. Botner admitted she deleted the text she sent Flynn that morning asking if he was involved. Flynn has pleaded not guilty. The second is Bryan Kohberger. His original lawyers told Judge Steven Hippler in a sealed May 2025 filing that he had difficulty comprehending adverse rulings, and he pleaded guilty six days after Hippler denied a delay. Det. Sgt. Mike Morgan put Caleb Flynn’s own recorded police interviews in front of the jury, including the moment Flynn told him, “It feels like you're pointing at me.” Morgan testified about his response to the Tipp City home where Ashley Flynn was found deceased and about two voluntary interviews he conducted with Caleb.Morgan said he examined the garage and saw damage near the side door, but testified that what he observed was not consistent with forced entry. He then requested assistance from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Prosecutors allege Caleb killed his wife Ashley and staged the scene to resemble a home invasion; Caleb has pleaded not guilty and maintains Ashley was killed by an intruder. Other investigators have also testified that the garage-door evidence did not appear consistent with a genuine forced entry.In the first recorded interview, Flynn described what he said happened before and after he heard two shots. He told Morgan that Ashley had asked him to sleep on the couch because he was coughing, that he later went into his daughters’ room, and that he heard the shots while lying on a bunk. Flynn said he ran to the garage, saw the side door wide open, closed it, then went to Ashley and called 911. He also described encounters Ashley allegedly had with a strange man before her death and provided Morgan a written list of firearms and ammunition.The second interview moved into the marriage. Morgan told Flynn investigators would examine Ashley’s phone and asked whether the couple had problems. Flynn answered, “No. We had a normal marriage,” and said neither phone would reveal trouble. Three trustees have held Nick Reiner's money since his parents were found dead, and each gave a different reason for keeping it. Matthew Fishburn never paid the age-30 distribution. Paul Kanin questioned Nick's competence even though the trust requires two physicians' statements to make that call, then paid Alan Jackson's law firm anyway before resigning after fifteen weeks. Jodi Pais Montgomery says she can't release fifty dollars for shampoo without a court order.Montgomery's position is the slayer statute: if Nick is convicted, the money passes to Jake and Romy as if he died first, so releasing it now is irreversible. She also claims, citing Fishburn, that Michele told him Nick consented to leaving the money in the trust. Nick's lawyers answer that the distribution vested in 2023, that $325,017 came from Carl Reiner, and that the Supreme Court bars freezing untainted money a defendant needs for counsel. Joseph Stratman’s cameras didn’t show an outside intruder approaching the home where Alleigha Botner was house-sitting. Prosecutors instead played three surveillance clips that Stratman testified showed a car leaving, returning, and leaving again - evidence the state used to place Alleigha at the house during the period it says Ashley Flynn was killed.Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to charges including aggravated murder in the February 16, 2026 death of his wife, Ashley Flynn. His defense says Ashley was killed during a home-invasion burglary and investigators rushed to blame Caleb.Pastor Jordan Hansen of Christian Life Center testified that staff and volunteers are prohibited from intimate relationships unless they are married, and that an extramarital affair would violate church policy. Hansen also testified that Alleigha was house-sitting for him at the time of the incident and resigned from CLC the following weekend.On cross-examination, Hansen acknowledged there were no surveillance cameras inside or outside his house. He also described farmland and an open field behind the property. Alleigha Botner told the jury in the Caleb Flynn trial what she was doing on her phone the night before Ashley Flynn was killed, and who she was sending it to. The former church intern testified for the prosecution that she was worried the affair would come out in a divorce and cost her her job. So, she said, she went to ChatGPT. Botner also testified she hid the relationship from the FBI when agents first questioned her, and an agent told jurors she was far more truthful in a second interview. The morning Ashley died, Botner said a church member messaged her the news, and her gut told her it was too much of a coincidence. Flynn is charged with aggravated murder and has pleaded not guilty. Special Agent Andrea Kinzig returned to the stand in Caleb Flynn's trial for the murder of his wife, Ashley Flynn, and the defense zeroed in on an investigative lead that went nowhere. Kinzig testified that a tip from Zachary McIntosh about a supposed hit on Caleb by Chris Hill was not followed up after what she described as a collective agreement between Tipp City Police and the FBI.The digital evidence cut in several directions. Kinzig said an Amazon search warrant showed three Blink cameras at the Flynn home - front door, back door, and living room - were last online on January 26, 2026. Five moves, twelve months, and more than 100,000 texts — that’s what the prosecution’s central witness described from the stand as she read her own messages with Caleb Flynn to the jury. Messages that show a 23-year-old worship leader going from receiving death wishes about Flynn’s wife to sending them back.Flynn faces aggravated murder charges in the death of Ashley Flynn, 37, in Tipp City, Ohio on February 16, 2026. Prosecutors allege he shot Ashley twice in the back of the head while she slept and staged a burglary.Alleigha Botner testified for more than four hours, reading text after text. In May 2025, according to her testimony, Flynn wrote that he’d kill Ashley in a heartbeat if it wouldn’t send him to hell. By June, he was asking Botner to hire someone. When she asked for a future together, he told her he’d never joked about it. By July, Botner was texting back — calling Ashley “douche” and writing that she “needs to go.” Flynn’s reply, per testimony: he’d have a smile on his face the whole time. Botner wrote back: “Praise God.”The texts document a full year of the same pattern: death wishes as proof of devotion, a woman conditioned to treat his crisis as hers, emotional collapse every time she pushed for answers, a 40-day spiritual fast that replaced every deadline, and jealous surveillance wrapped in sacrifice talk. By September 2025, five months before the shooting, they were coordinating the permanent deletion of every message using methods Botner researched on ChatGPT.
