Day 306 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. After the people turn back to God, He feels sorry for them. He promises to send lots of food and remove the scary locusts. God also says He'll make up for the bad years and send dreams and visions to people. But there's a big day coming where other nations will be judged for how they treated Israel. In the end, God's home, Jerusalem, will be a safe place and everyone will know that God is in charge. In Hebrews, even though God promised a restful place, some people didn't get there because they didn't trust Him. But we still have a chance. We should try hard to enter that peaceful place and not doubt like they did. God's word is powerful, and it can see deep inside us. Obadiah warns the Edomites (a group living in the mountains) that bad times are coming for them because they acted mean to their relatives, the Israelites, during Israel's rough patch. God's not happy with Edom's pride and betrayal, so He's going to make them fall big time. In the end, Israel will come back strong and take over the places Edom took from them, while Edom will disappear. It's a message about payback and God taking care of His own.People shouldn't ignore what God says. Jesus, who was made a little lower than angels for a bit, suffered death to help everyone. Because of this, he's now super important and above angels. But even when they are super sad, they remember that God is kind and cares about them. Every new day, they think about God's love. They hope that if they think about what they did wrong and say sorry, God will be close to them again.Paul writes a letter to Philemon from prison. In this letter, Paul talks about a man named Onesimus, who used to be Philemon's slave but ran away. However, Onesimus met Paul and became a Christian. Babylon's waters (representing its strength) will dry up, and it will become a desolate, uninhabitable wasteland. The people of Israel and Judah, whom Babylon once took captive, will return to their land, while Babylon will face its downfall for its arrogance and cruelty. The chapter ends with a symbolic act: Jeremiah instructs Seraiah to read this prophecy when he reaches Babylon and then throw the scroll into the Euphrates River, symbolizing the sinking and utter destruction of the city. In 2 Timothy 4, Paul tells Timothy to always be ready to talk about his beliefs, no matter what. He says a time will come when people will only listen to what they want to hear.
