On Hour two of Flames Talk, Pat Steinberg and Logan Gordon are joined by Calgary Flames Director of Player Development Ray Edwards to discuss the team's development camp and the work being done with the organization's top prospects. Edwards shares what camp looked like beyond the on-ice sessions, highlighting the off-ice learning opportunities and development programs designed to help players prepare for life as professionals. He also explains how the older prospects helped mentor the newest draft picks throughout the week and discusses his experience working with Carson Carrels during camp. Edwards wraps up by talking about Jonathan Castagna, outlining what he has liked from the young forward's game and what expectations could be for him as he looks to push for an NHL roster spot this season! (26:17) Later, Pat Steinberg and Logan Gordon discuss reports that Seattle Kraken centre Shane Wright could be available on the trade market. The guys debate whether it would be worth pursuing a player of Wright's pedigree and potential, while examining what the acquisition cost might look like. Using the Mason McTavish-for-Simon Nemec trade as a comparable, they break down the type of package Calgary may need to put together to get a deal done. The conversation continues with a look at the Flames' trade assets, including whether Connor Zary or Morgan Frost could be pieces used to begin discussions with Seattle and what a potential deal could mean for Calgary's future down the middle. To close out the hour, Pat and Logan turn to your texts answering your questions about Shane wright!  The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Media Inc. or any affiliate. https://www.sportsnet.ca/960/flames-talk/Get full Flames games and great shows like Quick 60: The Stamps Show, Wranglers Watch and more ON DEMAND.
