When you raise sheep on pasture surrounded by the largest carnivore in North America, mountain lions, and a local pack of wolves, you'd better have your act together when it comes to predator protection. Most North Americans recognize the German Shepherd Dog and similar breeds as law enforcement, military, and search and rescue dogs.
