They argue that India's strategic balancing act becomes more difficult as its economic and energy interests pull it toward China and the wider Global South.
The discussion then moves to the Gulf states—Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE and Bahrain, and their growing economic connections with Asia.
Finally, Carl discusses Xi Jinping's diplomatic engagements, such as his planned visit to Egypt, and explains why he believes China's strategy is not necessarily to destroy the American-led system, but rather to manage a gradual transition toward a multipolar world with an effort to prevent a chaotic collapse of the current financial order.
