FH Mini #160 - The Goofs Are Mutating! with Felipe Sobreiro

When we were all in Louisville together for our live show, we took the opportunity to record a pair of Shoctober episodes all together in person, and this is the first one! What happens when the only version of Dracula that Luc Besson seems to be familiar with is "Bram Stoker's Dracula?" We get DRACULA (2026), which takes all the extra nonsense from the Coppola version and adds some more French nonsense on top of it.FLOP TV SEASON FOUR is underway! We welcome esteemed illustrator and comics artist Felipe Sobreiro to take on more of those INFERNAL GOOFS! And because Felipe's most recent project is the wonderful new Toxic Avenger comic, all of these goofs are related to mutant movies! Much like a horror movie villain, the Scream movies refuse to die, even though with every new sequel the films shed more of what that made the franchise special and the whole thing just becomes a regular ol' slasher series. Eventually you get late installments like SCREAM 7. Some have called it the worst Scream of all! Will we agree?FLOP TV SEASON FOUR is well underway! Go pick up a pass for individual episodes or the whole dang season! TONIGHT (on the day of this episode's release) we will be discussing THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH, often the consensus choice for "worst Best Picture winner!" but if you miss us live, your ticket also gets you access to a recording of the show (through the end of February, 2027)!Stay updated on all things Flop House, plus a little extra, with our NEWSLETTER, “Flop Secrets!Wikipedia page for Scream 7.Recommended in this episode:Dan: The End of Oak Street (2026)Stu: Onslaught (2026), I Want Your Sex (2026)Elliott: Coyote vs. Acme (2026), T Blockers (2023) Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Does that pun work? Like docket? Like "clearing the docket" over on our friends' show Judge John Hodgman? Anywhoooo. Stu leads this mini where we name our "Top Three's" and clear a big backlog of people suggesting mini topics ALL AT ONCE! (Not that we necessarily take suggestions, so don't feel obligated to flood us with more, ya weirdos!)Tickets for FLOP TV SEASON FOUR are available! We say goodbye to Smalltember with a true bad movie jewel (thanks to Alonso Duralde for recommending it) -- the kid/tween/teen musical comedy STANDING OVATION, one of the few movies about a singing competition that also makes room for a mob subplot and a child who threatens people with deadly animals. What a magical picture.FLOP TV SEASON FOUR is well underway! Smalltember winds are blowing in, and this year the currents brought us a doozy. SURFER: TEEN CONFRONTS FEARhas already become a new bad movie classic, and we had a lot of fun(?) confronting this strange object that arrived at Flop House central like a beached whale. It's a metaphysical monologue! It's a stealth religious film! It's a military thriller! It's a surfing movie! It's a dad wasting his kid's time! It's a way to use up old home movies by sneaking them into your narrative film! It's all this and much more!FLOP TV SEASON FOUR'S BIG PREMIERE is tomorrow, 9/5! Charli XCX is a huge pop star, seems cool, and is a genuine film lover -- but when she decided to make her own movie, were the results any good? That's what we were wondering about THE MOMENT, and we invited star of the show (and bigger Charli XCX-pert than any of us) Hallie Haglund back to the show to help us decide. Stuart brings back the world's most popular Flop House after-show, hosted by one of the hosts of The Flop House, and this time Hallie's here (her presence makes more sense when you realize that we taped next week's full episode with her first, but this one was the first to release). This time, Stu asks The Flop House gang about their experiences with live shows, with some diversions into Dan, Elliott, and Hallie's tenure as writers for The Daily Show!
