The Precap | Jordan Klepper on Xi's Pandas, Tuberville's Furry Pilots & Trump's "Super Intelligence" Branding Fail

Jordan Klepper gets into the headlines: Famously pro-Hispanic President Trump hosts a Hispanic Heritage Month event at the White House, and even invents a new stereotype to honor the occasion! Pete Hegseth purges the U.S. military's “beardos, weirdos, wimps, and radicals,” which has us wondering where that leaves… most of his fellow cabinet members. Plus, Josh Johnson comes to us live from the Pentagon with exciting updates from Hegseth’s star-studded team tasked with studying the future of warfare. In this installment of In My Opinion, Nick Offerman dives into Gen Z's technology problem, as young people are now spending over six hours a day on their phones and having less sex than previous generations. But Offerman is happy to report that they’ve found a simple, low-tech antidote to this technological albatross: hobbies! From pottery to birdwatching to collecting miniatures, Gen Z is leaning into the joy of hobbies as a respite from a tech world supercharged by AI. And as one of America's premier hobbyists, Offerman couldn't be prouder. John Wilson joins Jordan to discuss his new documentary, “The History of Concrete.” The creator of “How To with John Wilson” shares how he finds beauty in the mundane through his unique shooting and editing style, how he scored an uninterrupted shot of Kim Kardashian at a fancy dinner party, and what happens when you spend your entire film budget on a creepy wax museum in Rome. Jordan also pitches an idea for Wilson’s next documentary project. -- To get simple, online access to personalized, affordable care for ED, Hair Loss, Weight Loss, and more, visit https://Hims.com/dailyshow -- The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11/10c on Comedy Central. Jordan Klepper breaks down the headlines, including an AI summit in Washington that left us with exactly the same amount of federal AI regulation (read: none). Plus, former Trump prosecutor Jack Smith appears before the Senate to answer questions about his “misconduct,” and Republican Sen. Eric Schmitt falls on his proverbial ass on live TV when his ambush of Smith backfires spectacularly. By the way, did anyone see that Atlanta Hawks game? Neither did Jack Smith. Irish musician CMAT joins Jordan to discuss her acclaimed third album, “Euro-Country.” They talk about how she weaves profound lyricism with Western melodies, what it means for her music to embody “funeral humor,” why the Irish psyche loves country music, and how the title track examines the repercussions of politicians’ actions. --To get simple, online access to personalized, affordable care for ED, Hair Loss, Weight Loss, and more, visit https://Hims.com/dailyshow -- The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11/10c on Comedy Central. Trump runs a taxpayer-funded ad that infuriates liberals, and Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders runs an ad that is TOO white for conservatives? Maybe they’re finally getting behind DEI. Jordan Klepper dives into the political ad controversy as well as some exciting announcements from the Trump administration: You can now apply for your first passport entirely online and ask the America.gov AI chatbot for help remembering your Social Security number! Plus, Klepper chats with the star of Huckabee Sanders’s controversial ad: Brad (Grace Kuhlenschmidt). As America celebrates its 250th, we must also remember all the great Americans we lost along the way. Jordan enlists Michael Kosta to do the honors with America 250: In Memoriam. Booker Prize-winning and bestselling author Marlon James sits down with Jordan to discuss his new novel “The Disappearers," which The New York Times called "the novel of the decade, if not the century.” James discusses his childhood in Jamaica, where he hid his sexuality by learning to disappear; his use of violence and sex in his work; and literature’s role in keeping a historical record for those typically erased from mainstream history. -- To get simple, online access to personalized, affordable care for ED, Hair Loss, Weight Loss, and more, visit https://Hims.com/dailyshow -- The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11/10c on Comedy Central. Jon Stewart examines the limits of Republican allegiance to Trump after his weekend of wooing President Xi with granite, helipads, and an exclusive tour of the White House ballroom. Will MAGA loyalists denounce Trump's offer to sell weapons to China, America's supposed enemy, or is their frustration with the president a Susan Collins-style display of feigned outrage? Wall Street Journal foreign correspondent Evan Gershkovich joins Jon to talk about his new memoir, “This Cursed Beautiful Land: A Russian-American Story.” Gershkovich, who spent 16 months imprisoned in Russia on false espionage charges, breaks down how a source, a second meeting, and a Putin pep talk to the FSB landed him in Russian prison. He discusses growing up in a Russian-speaking home, what drew him to reporting in Russia, life pre-imprisonment, and how he ultimately became a bargaining chip in a Putin-led prisoner swap scheme. He also weighs in on what a post-Putin Russia might look like and the totalitarian warning signs he sees in the U.S. -- To get simple, online access to personalized, affordable care for ED, Hair Loss, Weight Loss, and more, visit https://Hims.com/dailyshow -- The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11/10c on Comedy Central. Ari Emanuel, of TKO and WME Group, sits down with Jon Stewart to discuss his new memoir, “Roll the Calls.” The two discuss what Emanuel has learned over his legendary career: how to advocate for himself despite his dyslexia, how to channel anger and ego into a successful business, and how to stand up for the values you believe in. Plus, hear why Emanuel thinks his brother Rahm would be an incredible president— even though he’s NOT running. Grammy-winning artist Tom Morello sits down with Desi Lydic to discuss his new solo album, “Everyone Gets Everything They Want.” Morello shares how this is the heaviest thing he’s made since the first Rage Against the Machine album, how he lured his 15-year-old son, Roman, into a guitar career using “Stairway to Heaven” and how Roman ended up co-writing five songs on the album. He also discusses his upcoming festival, Power to the People, and credits his late activist mother, Mary, as the reason he believes every guitar riff can be an act of resistance. Jessica Tarlov, co-host of "The Five" on Fox News and the "Raging Moderates" podcast, joins Desi to chat about her new book "I Disagree: Winning Arguments Without Losing Friends." Plus, Wever explains how she dove into her “Primetime” character by learning the art of “host finagling” from veteran TV producers and exploring what happens when news, entertainment, and law enforcement get entangled. -- The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11/10c on Comedy Central. Trump can’t find Marco Rubio during his U.N. speech, and Jeanine Pirro seizes a Martian meteorite for some reason (shouldn’t that be the Space Force’s job?). Desi Lydic breaks down the headlines, including a BIG week for First Lady Melania Trump, who’s launching her second documentary passion project and putting Brian Kilmeade to sleep in the process. Michael Kosta plunges into the latest batch of midterm candidates caught up in scandal: Florida congressional hopeful Te Brown tries to lay low from the cops while running for office in two different states, New York candidate Chris Gallant's bondage pics put him in a bind, Michigan salsa entrepreneur Tom Smith takes heat for his far-right tweets, and Ohio's Brian Poindexter allegedly tried to swallow a crack rock at a traffic stop. Desi Lydic dives into the headlines with Trump’s press ban leaving him speechless (literally, he has no mic anymore). Plus, "AI" is out and “super intelligence” is in as the president coins a new term for his favorite humanity-threatening technology. And at the U.N., Trump’s passion for AI and starting beef come together as he dunks on other countries (and CNN), though by the looks of things, their delegates couldn’t care less. Either way, at least he still got to bro out with his favorite socialist Zohran Mamdani before leaving NYC. The great thing about America is anyone can run for office, and no one exemplifies that more than John Alite, a former mob enforcer turned New Jersey councilman. After doing time for "every crime you could think about," Alite turned his back on his hitman days and became a public servant in Englishtown, NJ. Josh Johnson had a sit-down with Alite to see how his extensive resume of bad deeds puts him in a unique position to do some good for his fellow New Jerseyans, and to find out whether this goodfella's redemption story is too good to be true. Grammy-winning artist Tom Morello sits down with Desi to discuss his new solo album, “Everyone Gets Everything They Want.” Morello shares how this is the heaviest thing he’s made since the first Rage Against the Machine album, how he lured his 15-year-old son, Roman, into a guitar career using “Stairway to Heaven” and how Roman ended up co-writing five songs on the album.
