The "Children of Dune" miniseries, released in 2003, is a television adaptation of the second and third novels in Frank Herbert's "Dune" series: "Dune Messiah" and "Children of Dune." Directed by Greg Yaitanes, and written by John Harrison (who directed the 2000 miniseries). The first episode of the miniseries covers the events of Dune: Messiah and the last two episodes adapt Children of Dune. This is TO DATE the ONLY attempt to adapt these two novels.

"Children of Dune" received praise for its faithful adaptation of the source material and its portrayal of the complex characters and intricate political dynamics in Herbert's universe. The miniseries features strong performances from actors such as Alec Newman (Our Paul, hands down), Julie Cox, Alice Krige, and Susan Sarandon. While working within the constraints of a television budget, the "Children of Dune" miniseries is generally well-regarded by fans of the "Dune" series for its ambitious attempt to bring Herbert's intricate narrative to the screen.
