Week 5: The IN and EX Ilium

In today's episode, we will be talking with Dr Randy Johnson.  Dr Johnson was around in the days when the GCSS was first formed, and he can tell us a lot about our history and how this organization came into being. We will be discussing all things Gonstead with him and how we try to move the organization forward. 

In today's episode, we will be talking with Dr Herb Wood. Dr Wood is the person that I most credit with teaching me to adjust. After years of struggle and frustration, he changed my understanding of what an adjustment should be and how it should be performed.  In addition to the adjustment, Dr Wood's "Boot Camps" are famous for the wealth of information regarding the consequences of subluxation and how it should be corrected.  In this conversation, we are going to touch on all of that. 

In today's episode, we will discuss how we find the IN and EX Ilium listing on the X-ray.  We will also look at how this listing coincides with the PI and AS to create an effect on the Sacrum. 

This week, we will be listening to some past episodes that include some of the Gonstead Fellows.  This is a great way to distill the wisdom of the past and incorporate it into your present.  Today's conversation is with Dr David Curry.  Dr Curry is known for teaching the fundamentals of the adjustment, and, in this episode, we will discuss some of those fundamentals and how to use them to become a better adjuster.

In today's episode, we will be completing Chapter 6 on Spine Pain. In this section, we will be doing a review of everything that we have learned from this chapter, which is a great way to make sure you gained all of the actionable steps and you learned the talking points for patient communication. 

In this episode, we will be talking with Dr Chris Meyer about the neurology of sleep.  Dr Meyer is one of the newest GCSS Board Members, but he is also one of the newest Fellows.  I think you will find him to be very deep and thorough in his insight into the process of sleep and how we might help our patients to improve it. 

In today's episode, we are going to talk with Dr Denny O'Hara.  Dr O'Hara is someone that of the guests on this podcast would tell you he is their favorite person to talk to.  Dr O'Hara is always observant and always insightful, but he does it in a simple way that is easy to grasp.  If you find neurology to be an intimidating subject, I think you will find that Dr O'Hara is the perfect person to listen to as he talks about how the body works. 

In this episode, we will discuss the PI Ilium. We will also look at the similarities and differences between the PI Ilium and the AS Ilium. It is important to understand how the ilium functions before we add in the sacrum to see how the pelvis functions as one unit with different bones moving in different directions. 

In today's episode, we will begin a week of neurology review by listening to Dr David Geary.  Dr Geary is a Gonstead Diplomate and he is on the GCSS Board of Directors; he is also the co-chairman of the Meeting of the Minds committee along with myself.  He has a deep love and interest in both the science of chiropractic and the field of Neurology.  I think you will find he has some excellent insights for you as you think about the neurology of the subluxation. 

In today's episode, we will be wrapping up our week-long review of Chiropractic Pediatrics by talking about a Gonstead approach to pediatrics.  Dr Franzluebbers has done a lot of teaching on this subject and I think it will be the perfect wrap up for the week.
