The East Coast Radio Fugitive: How one couple found him and bagged R40 000

The East Coast Radio Fugitive may have been found for the day, but don't think he's disappeared just yet. The Fugitive reflected on being found, reveals when listeners can expect the next clue and bounty and shares whether he's planning to be even more difficult to track down when it all resumes. And while he kept the next clue and bounty under wraps until Monday, he did drop one interesting detail about where listeners might spot him this weekend.

The East Coast Radio Fugitive's run may have ended for the day, but the questions are only just beginning. After days of clues, theories, wrong turns and near misses, one listener finally came face-to-face with the man who had KZN searching high and low. But what was he really like when the chase was over? Stacey and J Sbu caught up with Ludfia to get the details you didn't hear anywhere else. Was the Fugitive taller or shorter than expected? What kind of energy was he giving off when he was finally found? And what advice does the person who cracked the case have for listeners before the Fugitive returns? Get the ultimate Fugitive debrief from one of the only people who can say: "I found him."

Everyone wants to find the East Coast Radio Fugitive, but for Lucy, the hunt became an adventure all of its own. Armed with determination and a plan, she headed to the Rising Sun convinced she could be the one to crack the clues. Instead, she found herself surrounded by car after car of fellow Fugitive hunters who had exactly the same idea. And just when she thought her day couldn't get any more unexpected, a simple stop to buy meat before dinner turned into another casualty of the Fugitive. Lucy joined Stacey and J Sbu to share her hilarious "almost" story, proving that even if you don't find the Fugitive, you can still end up with a great tale to tell.

Stacey and J Sbu chat to Farren Jade Louwrens, partner of JP Jacobs, the man who tracked down the East Coast Radio fugitive. JP was out with his stepdaughter when he decided to join the hunt, and his keen eye earned the couple a massive R40,000 prize. Farren shares the rollercoaster of emotions from the moment she received a picture of the fugitive's card to the realisation that their lives had just changed. A heart-warming story of teamwork, partnership, and a Thursday afternoon they will never forget.

Stacey and J Sbu attempted to call the East Coast Radio Fugitive but someone named JP answered. He located the East Coast Radio Fugitive near an ice-cream store in Florida Road, went up to him and asked the magic question: "Are you the East Coast Radio Fugitive?" He got a resounding yes and R40 000!

Stacey and J Sbu stopped asking where The Fugitive is and started asking who he is. From ice cream tubs full of dhal to knowing exactly what a four-ball in thunee means, The Fugitive passed every unofficial KZN test they threw at him. It's official: this man is one of us. But while we were busy profiling the mystery man behind the bounty, he casually slipped in a fresh clue. First, he revealed he had not been spotted at Westville Mall on Buckingham Terrace. But before signing off he left us with this cryptic message: "I've had a long day, almost checking out but I am checking in at a place with a castle." The question is: was that a clue... or classic Fugitive misdirection?

The East Coast Radio Fugitive has dropped another clue, and with his bounty now sitting at R18 000, the pressure is on. His latest message? "Open your eyes" and "strike while the iron is hot." He insists he's been telling the truth in his clues all along, even teasing listeners with a mysterious reference to an elephant in the studio. But perhaps the biggest revelation of all is what he didn't say. While KZN appears to be zeroing in on Amanzimtoti, the Fugitive has made one thing crystal clear: "Everyone is flocking to Toti. I am NOT in Toti." So is he giving the province a genuine lead... or is this another masterclass in misdirection? With R18 000 up for grabs, every word matters.

Is the East Coast Radio Fugitive outsmarting an entire province, or are we outsmarting ourselves? Stacey and J Sbu turned to magician and illusionist Mo Magic for answers. Drawing on years of creating illusions and directing attention, Mo explained the crucial role misdirection plays in staying one step ahead of a crowd. He also revealed the most common mistake people make when trying to solve a puzzle and weighed in on a fascinating question: is it better to hide something completely, or hide it in plain sight? If you're trying to crack the Fugitive's clues, this conversation might just change the way you think. Or maybe that's exactly what the Fugitive wants...

The East Coast Radio Fugitive called Stacey and J Sbu and left everyone wondering one thing: how much does this guy actually know? What started as a routine check-in quickly became a roast session. He took aim at Andi's checkered blazer, mocked Nick's bright red hoodie, and then casually revealed details that nobody expected him to know, including J Sbu's son, Zanda, and Stacey's cat, Goku. As if that wasn't unsettling enough, he dropped a classic Dirty Harry line: "Do you feel lucky, punk?" Was it just banter, or another clue for tomorrow's hunt? The Fugitive also confirmed he's leaving Ballito behind and will be somewhere in eThekwini from 6am tomorrow morning. With the bounty climbing and clues getting stranger, KZN has a lot to think about. Then, after declaring that he's doing what every responsible fugitive should do after being caught, "absolutely nothing", he dropped a casual "Lakka" and vanished. Again. Nobody is safe. Not Stacey. Not J Sbu. Not Andi. Not Nick. And apparently not Goku the cat either.

The Fugitive has been watching a little too closely. He knew exactly what Stacey and J Sbu were wearing today, from Stacey's leopard print and red boots to J Sbu's all-black tracksuit. While he's keeping his exact location under wraps, he did reveal one important detail: he's on the move. Ballito is behind him, and by tomorrow morning, he'll be somewhere in eThekwini. From 6 am on Wednesday, 30 September, the search starts all over again, with a bounty that's already looking very tempting. But before disappearing, He said: "Do you feel lucky, punk?" At first glance, it sounds like a bit of cheek from a man who's managed to stay one step ahead. But movie buffs will recognise it... Now the question is: was The Fugitive simply showing off his film knowledge... or has he just handed KZN a clue hiding in plain sight?
