On this episode of the SeventySix Capital Sports Leadership Show, Wayne Kimmel interviewed Marc Reeves, Global Head of Strategic Partnerships for Fever. Reeves is an investor and advisor across various sports properties including Leeds United, CD Leganes, Cancun FC and Blue Crow Analytics.  He was previously Head of Brand, Football, for Nike.  In this role, he was the consumer and marketplace lead for the company's business across NFL, NCAA, High School, Grassroots and Performance.  Previous to this role, Marc was GM, Nike+, responsible for the company's connected membership ecosystem including vision, brand and connecting all consumers through digital (apps, Nike.com), physical (DTC, wholesale, events) and related products (e.g. Apple Watch Nike+).  Prior to joining Nike, Marc was the NFL's first ever International Commercial Director, where he led partnerships and marketing for the league outside of the US.  He added on the responsibilities of Managing Director of NFL Canada during his tenure.  His prior experiences include various roles at IMG (now Endeavor), including Vice President, Consulting where he led the agency's global relationships with Visa, Electronic Arts, Wells Fargo, and he worked in the Athlete Management division at ProServ.  In addition, he co-founded a sports-based social gaming company, Lionside, which was acquired by Japanese mobile company, ngmoco:).  Marc is on the Board of Directors of Relo Metrics.  He is also a Board Advisor to Cloud9 esports, Sportable, Web3 Pro, Screen Skinz, a Techstars Sports Mentor and on the Advisory Board of the Tulane Sports Law Program.Marc has been a featured speaker at numerous venues including Stanford Graduate School of Business, Kellogg School of Management, University of Michigan, Tulane Law School, Leaders (UK), Sports Lawyers Association and Ivy League Sports Symposium. He has been interviewed and quoted in various media outlets including The New York Times, CNN, ESPN, Reuters, Irish Times, The Nikkei and the Sports Business Journal. Prior to joining The Montag Group, Maury was the President and Founder of Vision Sports Group, a New York-based sports management and marketing agency representing primarily sports broadcasters and coaches.Gostfrand graduated from the University of Michigan in 1991 and began his career with the New York-based firm, Athletes and Artists, serving as the Director of Marketing. While at A & A, he was responsible for securing marketing opportunities for the clients, which included broadcasters, professional athletes and Olympic athletes. Gostfrand then attended University of Miami School of Law, and while in law school, worked for Impact Sports in Boca Raton, Florida, representing professional athletes, including NFL and NBA players. In her role, Myer provides strategic guidance and operational leadership to support the organization in fulfilling its mission of impacting the community through sports. Myer also currently serves as the Event Co-Director of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming event in 2024 at Lucas Oil Stadium. In addition, Myer was a producer of “Made for this Moment: An Indiana Sports Corp Story,” a documentary of the history of the sports strategy in Indianapolis and how it set up the community to host the 2021 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship.Previously, Myer served as Chief of Marketing where she led a department responsible for the marketing, communications, and brand management for Indiana Sports Corp, its partner events (i.e. NCAA, Olympic, and Big Ten championships), and its fundraisers. In addition, Myer works to connect the ISC brand with the Indianapolis community through partnerships and ancillary events. Prior to her time at Indiana Sports Corp, Myer served as Vice President of Marketing for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. In this role, Myer managed the Marketing & Communications team while overseeing all marketing campaigns promoting 200+ concerts. On this episode of the SeventySix Capital Sports Leadership Show, Wayne Kimmel interviewed Jeff Mostyn, the Former Chairman of AFC Bournemouth⁠. There have been few constants in AFC Bournemouth’s incredible rise to the Premier League. Aside from the sight of the inspirational performances from the team, achieving the almost impossible by reaching the Premier League in 2015, it is an almost unrecognisable club from just ten years ago. But its fairy tale success wouldn’t have been possible without the boardroom backing of former Chairman Jeff Mostyn following his purchase of the club in 2007. The club has now become one of the most progressive and admired clubs, both on and off the field within the English football pyramid. Mostyn now stands as an immensely well-respected figure not only in the English game but also on the Global stage due to his unparalleled knowledge of the Football Pyramid. He has held places on the board of the Football League and the Football Association Council and is just as influential in the local area, contributing as an ambassador to the club’s Community Sports Trust where he remains a trustee. Mostyn is also part of a small group of Football Chairman to have held the position at the same club in the top four divisions, along with Swansea City’s Huw Jenkins and Dave Whelan at Wigan Athletic. In 2011 he was elected by the 72 Football League Clubs to represent them on the FA Council working on several of the Football Association committees, including those for Disability, FA Youth and Compliance Monitoring, as well as chairing the prestigious FA Challenge Cup Committee. In 2012 Jeff was elected to the Board of Directors of the Football League. During the 2015/16 season Jeff was elected as an FA England Team Ambassador, supporting the FA and England teams overseas. Following the club’s administration in 2009, Mostyn stepped down to become Vice-Chairman of the club, before once again taking up the position of Chairman at AFC Bournemouth in September 2013, with a historic promotion to the English Premier League following less than two years later. Away from football, he is a family man and has been married to his wife Rose for 44 years and has four children. Amongst Jeff’s charitable work he supports Prostate Cancer UK and is a patron for Dorset Cancer Care Foundation, Ambassador of Julia’s House Children’s Hospice, Ambassador of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care. Jeff is a global ambassador for Football for Peace and had the honour of presenting to dignitaries at the UN General Assembly in New York in September 2019. Jeff was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Bournemouth University in Business Administration in November 2017, in recognition of his work at AFC Bournemouth and the Community. Jeff received a Fellowship of the FA Council in 2021. Finally in 2023 The Premier League acknowledged Jeff’s contribution to the League and the wider Football Family with a personal award. The rise of AFC Bournemouth from the depths of despair in 2006 to the glorified heights of the English Premier League is one of sports greatest ever achievements. It was once described as a Hans Christian Anderson fairy story that somehow came to life. Jeff Stepped down as Chairman of the football club in December 2022, taking up a role as Ambassador for the clubs, Community Sports Trust. On this episode of the SeventySix Capital Sports Leadership Show, Wayne Kimmel interviewed CEO and Co-Founder of Overtime, Dan Porter.Porter, who graduated with a B.A. from Princeton and a masters from NYU, is the CEO and co-founder of Overtime, a sports network for the next generation of fans, generating a billion views a month and backed by VC’s like Andreessen Horowitz and Spark, and Kevin Durant and former NBA commissioner David Stern. Previously Porter was the head of digital at Endeavor. He also led and sold the gaming company OMGPOP for $200mm and ticketing company TicketWeb for $40mm. Porter was the creator of the Draw Something mobile game which was downloaded 250 million times. Earlier in his career, Porter led development for Richard Branson and the Virgin Group, worked twice in the music business, was a public school teacher, and was President of Teach For America, the national education non-profit.
