On the 10th of April, 2008, 16 year old Meghan Landowski arrived home from school in Portsmouth, Virginia. She called her mum to say she was back safely - just a normal afternoon for a teenager juggling school, friends, and dance classes.When Meghan's stepfather walked through the front door later that afternoon, something immediately felt wrong. The house was quiet. The front door had been left open. And in the kitchen, he discovered a scene that would launch one of the most disturbing investigations the community had ever seen.Meghan had been brutally attacked, restrained with tape, and stabbed dozens of times. The violence suggested a deeply personal crime... but investigators initially had no clear suspect.
