Film Fights With Friends - Season 2 / Episode 7 | Set Stupidity

Welcome to the 51st episode of David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast. During this episode, David & Stu will be celebrating a year of podcasting by recording a video of this week's episode as a special treat for our listeners. And for those who are displeased with some of our comments, you'll know what we look like so you can pelt rocks and garbage at us if you see us on the mean streets of Greenwich Village. The topics this week will include the following:1) To commemorate our 50th episode, David decided to take Stu's admonishment to be more positive. He decided to discuss his top five hatreds, which was hard for him to narrow down because he has no shortage of them.2) Stu decided once again to venture out of his pristine bubble and went to the Bronx for a fine dining experience at 188 Bakery Cuchifritos, which was listed on a New York Times list of best restaurants. Stu recounts his meal as well as the greeting he received for not fitting the mold of the restaurant's usual clientele.3) We shift gears to the NYC mayoral race and the blockbuster article in the NY Times that exposed Mamdani for claiming he was black on his college application to Columbia so that he could take advantage of the admission preferences at the time. Apparently, being born in Uganda didn't make him African American, and it certainly doesn't bolster his claims to be a corruption fighter and a breath of fresh air, particularly when he has claimed throughout his public life that he is South Asian and Muslim.4) The Texas flood was a tragic natural disaster that took the lives of many young people who were full of promise and trying to enjoy summer camp. What adds further dimension to this sad story is the sorry state of the Federal response because of reckless DOGE cuts, irresponsible environmental policies, and incompetent agency heads, most notably ICE Barbie, Kristi Noem.We hope you tune in, and please leave comments. In this episode of Film Fights With Friends, Steve and Paul share some of the crazier stories from their stunt careers, including getting trolled after an appearance on a notorious Saturday Night Live sketch, improv gone wrong on The Punisher, calling out the leaker of Ray Donovan fight footage, a cautionary tale about working on friends’ passion projects and more!MENTIONS:SNL Safelite Sketch: https://vimeo.com/247846876 TAMMFF Film Freeway: https://filmfreeway.com/TAMMFF FILM FIGHTS WITH FRIENDSDo you listen to our show as an audio podcast? Welcome to the 50th episode of David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast. During this episode, we discuss our plans to record a video of our next episode to commemorate hitting 50 podcasts. We also lament the empty feeling we have about July 4th, when our country is heading down a negative path and is led by disgraceful and crude leaders. Along with that, the following topics are covered:1) In an effort to uplift our spirits on July 4th, Stu recounts how a Vietnam veteran, Kim Bowlin, played taps at the gravesite of his buddy who perished in Vietnam.2) The mood shifts greatly to the electoral victory of Zohran Mamdani as the Democratic candidate for NYC Mayor. His youthful appeal got many NYC nepo babies to the polls who were enraptured by his innumerable antisemitic comments as well as offers of socialist freebies. Even more disgraceful, two Jewish NYC Democratic politicians, Brad Lander and Jerrold Nadler, endorsed Mamdani, betraying Jewish Americans.3) The story of Deacon Richard Pryor, who thwarted a crazed shooter in Michigan and prevented him from going on a shooting spree. If he had been in some liberal jurisdiction, Pryor might have been brought up on murder charges, as Daniel Penny was here in NYC by fat Alvin Bragg.4) The episode concludes with a discussion of the Big Beautiful Bill's passage and the massive deficit spending this will cause, which has spurred Elon Musk to reignite his feud with Trump. In response, Trump has threatened to deport him.We welcome comments on our podcasts, which can be left on our website or any other platform you may be tuning in on.Connect with David & Stu:Email David & Stu: [email protected] and share your comments, concerns, and questions. We encourage all to visit our website (https://www.rageworksnetwork.com/show/david-stu-unhinged/) and please leave comments for our consideration.

Welcome to episode forty-nine of David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast. In this episode, David and Stu cover the following:1) The murder of Doris Warrell and how her husband was finally apprehended 20 years later after he fled the country to Costa Rica with the nanny and his two children.2) How Karen Read was acquitted of murdering her boyfriend, a police officer, in Boston after the first trial was ruled a mistrial, and the sloppy and unprofessional investigation by detectives investigating the death of one of their own.3) Stu’s encounters with panhandlers on NYC streets, one of whom admitted to him that he wasn't really a veteran, and that it was just a "gig" after Stu questioned his military background.4) How a shady real estate investor, Shepard (Shep) Morgan, is converting a commercial hotel, the Larchmont, into a homeless shelter on a historically landmarked street (West 11th Street) in Greenwich Village in exchange for generous tax exemptions and city funds for the shelter. We also discuss how Elizabeth Street Garden was saved from demolition for low-income housing, and how progressives are not pleased by this because the park is managed privately yet open to the public. We welcome comments on our podcasts, which can be left on our website or any other platform you may be tuning in on.Connect with David & Stu:Email David & Stu: [email protected] and share your comments, concerns, and questions. We encourage all to visit our website (https://www.rageworksnetwork.com/show/david-stu-unhinged/) and please leave comments for our consideration.

Joining Film Fights With Friends is Dr. Paul Heinzelmann, a physician, former clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School and Producer/Director of Safe Sets: Dying to Work in the Film Industry - a feature-length exploration of systemic issues impacting the health and wellbeing of film workers. This critically important documentary weaves together candid interviews with technicians, union representatives, public health experts, and notable performers (Jon Hamm and John Malkovich) with the story of Dr. Paul's effort to conduct research into health and safety in the film industry. The cumulative impacts of sleep deprivation, toxic exposure, stress, long hours, accidents and other issues explored in Safe Sets are not only detrimental and unhealthy, but potentially deadly for film workers. Stunts-gone-wrong and other accidents happen all the time on film sets. Not just the ones that make the news – workers die with such regularity that the life expectancy of film workers is estimated by some to be many years shorter than the national average. Film workers frequently succumb to untreated injuries, illnesses, substance use dependencies and mental health issues because they lack the time and resources to schedule medical appointments or to simply rest and heal.Safe Sets IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt28515733/reference/Safe Sets Website: https://www.safesetsmovie.orgMENTIONS:TAMMFF Film Freeway: https://filmfreeway.com/TAMMFF FILM FIGHTS WITH FRIENDSDo you listen to our show as an audio podcast? Welcome to episode forty-eight of David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast. In this episode, David and Stu cover the following:1) In an effort to appease Stu, David will note a Bodega co-owner in Staten Island, Wail Alselwi, who is rewarding students for academic achievement and uses this as an example of how small business owners add more to society than the failed NY politicians.2) Stu will recount his experience dowsing as a camp counselor and whether dowsing is actually legitimate rather than an old wives' tale.3) We discuss the NYC mayoral primary and the anti-Semitic progressive socialist, Zohran Mamdani, who is gaining momentum on Cuomo with the help of AOC and Bernie Sanders. Mamdani is so unqualified to be mayor that even the NY Times advocated against him, but that doesn't stop the pro-Gaza liberals from backing him.4) Trump decided to use the 250th anniversary of the army to throw a parade in DC on the same day as his birthday. This grotesque parade only further reflects what a vile president we have.We welcome comments on our podcasts, which can be left on our website or any other platform you may be tuning in on.Connect with David & Stu:Email David & Stu: [email protected] and share your comments, concerns, and questions. We encourage all to visit our website (https://www.rageworksnetwork.com/show/david-stu-unhinged/) and please leave comments for our consideration.

Welcome to episode forty-seven of David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast. In this episode, David and Stu cover the following:1) The recent Ukrainian drone assault on Russia and the impact it had, as well as a discussion on how it probably won't dissuade Putin from continuing this war, but the nature of this attack has the potential to impact future conflicts and how they are executed.2) Elon Musk has left DOGE and is putting his efforts into populating Mars. His management of DOGE was highly unsuccessful and didn't come close to meeting the savings he promised. We also discuss new reports of his extensive drug use and erratic behavior.3) We revisit the topic of the Tulsa massacre and how the new Mayor has established a Trust which will accept funds to address the damage and death caused by this tragedy. In doing this, the Mayor refused to label this as "reparations."4) We end with a discussion of Patti LuPone's interview with the New Yorker magazine, where she trashed other Broadway stars with whom she has had prior disagreements, which caused an onslaught of criticism. Patti's behavior establishes that she is not really a Diva, but more of a bitter old bitch. We welcome comments on our podcasts, which can be left on our website or any other platform you may be tuning in on.Connect with David & Stu:Email David & Stu: [email protected] and share your comments, concerns, and questions.Visit our website (https://www.rageworksnetwork.com/show/david-stu-unhinged/) and please leave comments for our consideration.

On this episode, we acknowledge Clara's 26th birthday, the young woman who designed the artwork for this podcast as well as some comments about previous episodes from our audience, some of whom gave us an earful once again about the use of the "r" word and it isn't woke to be offended by this "ugly" terminology. In addition, we will cover the following topics:1) A few anecdotes about ships crashing as well as some ingenious ship designs that Stu observed sitting on a bench in Red Hook, Brooklyn, home to IKEA. Of course, the ship was designed by an Italian.2) An Italian crypto millionaire, Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan, was kidnapped and tortured in a Soho Townhouse by other crypto bros, John Woeltz and William Duplesse, who wanted him to give up his passcodes for his crypto accounts. This story is a reflection of some of the shady characters involved in crypto, most notably the Trump family.3) The tragic death of a promising 18-year-old woman, Ava Moore, in a boating accident where two illegal Venezuelan immigrants crashed into her Kayak with a jet ski in a Texas lake and caused her fatal head injury.4) Trump's pardons of tax cheats and fraudsters, Paul Walczak and reality stars Todd and Julie Christy. It is truly appalling how Trump has abused his right to pardon in exchange for cash or fealty. His antics are so unethical he makes the rapist Bill Clinton look like a boy scout and clearly reinforced the need to consider means to limit the President's right to pardon. We welcome comments on our podcasts, which can be left on our website or any other platform you may be tuning in on.Connect with David & Stu: Email David & Stu: [email protected] and share your comments, concerns, and questions. We encourage all to visit our website (https://www.rageworksnetwork.com/show/david-stu-unhinged/) and please leave comments for our consideration.
