Beyond survival: Christine Buckley on brain aneurysm awareness, recovery and the patient voice

When a patient survives a ruptured brain aneurysm, the outcome cannot be captured by survival alone. Fatigue, sensory sensitivity, cognitive changes, altered relationships and difficulty returning to work may continue long after the patient has left hospital, and may be invisible to everyone around them.

In this Neuro Resus interview, Oli Flower speaks with Christine Buckley, Executive Director of the Brain Aneurysm Foundation, about the gaps between successful treatment and meaningful recovery, the continuing need for public and professional awareness, and why patients and families must help define the outcomes that matter.
