Ep290 Pt2 (Our Chat) – Lent: Good Works as a Way of Life

We can do things anew because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Emma and Rosemary chat about the fresh start that we have because of what Christ has done for us. We’ve spent several weeks through Lent focusing on areas that we can improve and now is the time to step into a new way because of the victory of Christ! 

It is because of Jesus’ victory over death that we no longer need to be held down by sin, weakness or our failings. In this Heartbeat Emma reminds us that we can begin again because with Christ we can overcome!

This week we reflect on the fact that God is giving us His Son. It is a moment like no other moment. Emma and Rosemary chat about some of the ways that we can ponder and meditate on the momentous week that leads up to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. 

Holy week is the week where God came close to us to give us life eternal. God gave His Son completely. In this Heartbeat Rosemary shares some of the ways that we can reflect on Holy Week.

Good works are to be our way of life. What an amazing thought! This week Emma and Rosemary chat about the good works that God has prepared for us. During this season of Lent we can ask ourselves whether we are doing good works and are they our way of life? 

God created us for good works to be our way of life. During this Lenten season Rosemary encourages us to look for where God has prepared good works for us.

What priorities do you have in life? We all have priorities even if we haven’t specifically written them down. This week Emma and Rosemary chat about whether God, prayer and faith are priorities in our lives. Our lives are so busy and it can be hard to fit God in sometimes. This Lenten season is a great time to re-assess what we really value. 

Do you prioritise your faith? Do you struggle to fit prayer into your life? Lent is a wonderful time to look at how we prioritise our relationship with God. In this Heartbeat Emma helps us to reflect on where our faith sits on our priority list. 

How do you treat others? We are asked to live our neighbour as ourselves but sometimes our actions and behaviours don’t live up to that. This week Emma and Rosemary chat about allowing the Holy Spirit to show us the areas of our lives where we need to change our actions and behaviours. 

The phrase ‘Actions speak louder than words’ says a lot about our integrity and character. This week’s Lent focus is on our actions and behaviour. In this Heartbeat Emma asks us to reflect on how we treat others.
