China warns of countermeasures over U.S. semiconductor tariff plan

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson has again strongly criticized recent remarks by a senior Japanese official about possessing nuclear weapons.

China has voiced strong opposition to a U.S. plan to impose tariffs on the Chinese semiconductor industry starting in 2027, warning that the move would disrupt global supply chains and hurt all sides.

At the United Nations Security Council, member states including China and Russia have criticized the U.S. for escalating military tensions with Venezuela.
