After fighting all year, there are no more rounds for the New York Mets. The towel has been thrown. It's over. The Mets fell to the San Diego Padres in the deciding Game 3 of their Wild Card Series. With their backs against the wall, the New York Mets turned to Jacob deGrom in Game 2 to help bring them even in their series with the San Diego Padres. deGrom did just that, with the offense having a big night on the backs of Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, and Jeff McNeil. Buck Showalter also made some interesting choices in how he decided to use Edwin Diaz in this game, so I break that down and look ahead to Game 3, and how Buck and the Mets might try to map out use of their pictures. Max Scherzer was not good against San Diego in Game 1 of the Wild Card Series. Now, the Mets must turn to Jacob deGrom in Game 2 to save their season, as he goes up against lefty Blake Snell. We talk (very little) about Scherzer's meltdown in Game 1, before constructing the best lineup for Game 2, and mapping out how to handle the pitching staff.
