S8 E17 - Nintendo Direct: Dragon Quest Monsters, Xenblade Genesis, & More!

This week, Cody from Popagenda is sitting down with Austin to discuss the release of TOEM 2. It might just be Austin's favorite game of the year, and it's definitely one you should check out.

This week, Austin and Plattym3 are talking about Dragon Quest Heroes: Torneko's Mystery Dungeon -Classic HD-, which they both played on the Switch and Switch 2. We died, we laughed, we died, we cried, we died some more. Oh, and then we died again.

This week, Austin is catching up with games he's played recently, including Orbitals (amazing), Marvel's Wolverine (it's okay), and Torneko's Mystery Dungeon (he's died a lot).

This week, Austin is flying solo to talk about all that Dragon Quest Monters: The Withered World news we've gotten this past week, including the new characters, villain, worlds, and gameplay mechanics. He also discusses the new Dragon Quest board game, which will hopefully release outside of Japan one of these days.

This week, Austin is hanging out with Plattym3 from the Slime Time podcast to chat about our favorite Dragon Quest Monsters games. Plus, which entries we didn't love as much, which one we'd recommend for beginners, and a whole lot more!

This week, Austin is chatting with our good friend Chris about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. From Navi to the Water Temple to the Swordless Link trick, we take a little stroll down memory lane in Hyrule.

Sony made the bone-head play recently of discontinuing physical disc production of video games starting in January 2028. So next year is the last year we may have physical DQ games. Especially with Square Enix only using Game Key Cards on the Switch 2. We have thoughts.

This week we're talking about Books! We announce the winners of our Mark of Erdrick vol 4 giveaway, as well as discuss the manga itself (no spoilers). We also get into the Delicious Quest unofficial DQ cookbook, which is available for preorder and drops June 30 online. You can also hear us talk about goodies from the High Republic, the Saga graphic novel, Wheel of Time and more. We knew where this episode was going to start, but it went somewhere different, and that's okay. It was fun and got to rep some community members and their awesome projects. https://vidramon.bigcartel.com/product/delicious-quest-unofficial-dq-erdrick-trilogy-cookbook

We were there, in the before time, in the long, long ago. We were there when the secrets were unfurled a mote at a time in print-run magazines, CD roms, and demo discs that came with fighting games. Come, children, and gather round for the elders to tell you of what it was like when the Chosen One was preparing for launch and what came once it was birthed into the world.

There was a Nintendo Direct this week, and we got to see more of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World! We had gameplay, some new reveals, and more. We talk all about that and other amazing games that we're genuinely excited for in this week's episode.
