The popular app Instacart charged customers different prices on the same items bought from the same stores, an investigation from Consumer Reports and progressive think tank Groundwork Collaborative found. Instacart responded, saying, "These tests are not dynamic pricing. Prices never change in real time," adding, "retailers have long tested prices in their physical stores," and saying that 10 retail partners do so in the app. Jo Ling Kent has more. Following the death of her daughter, a mother turned her grief into action to help make button batteries harder for kids to access - but the law that passed didn't apply to toys. She tried to get the Consumer Product Safety Commission to apply the standard to toys, but the effort stalled over the summer. The agency has lost key leadership and staff, and now two former CPSC commissioners are issuing warnings to consumers. The iconic movie "Waiting to Exhale," starring Angela Bassett, Whitney Houston, Loretta Devine and Lela Rochon premiered 30 years ago this month. The film, which had an all Black cast and focused on female empowerment, was a box office hit.
