ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੯ ॥ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਰਹੀ ॥ ਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਜੇ ਨ ਤੀਰਥ ਸੇਵੇ ਚੋਟੀ ਕਾਲਿ ਗਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਦਾਰਾ ਮੀਤ ਪੂਤ ਰਥ ਸੰਪਤਿ ਧਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਭ ਮਹੀ ॥ ਅਵਰ ਸਗਲ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਏ ਜਾਨਉ ਭਜਨੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਕੋ ਸਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਫਿਰਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਜੁਗ ਹਾਰਿਓ ਮਾਨਸ ਦੇਹ ਲਹੀ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਤ ਮਿਲਨ ਕੀ ਬਰੀਆ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਕਹਾ ਨਹੀ ॥੨॥੨॥ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵੇਖੋ, ਮਾਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਮੰਦ-ਭਾਗਤਾ! ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰਹਿ ਗਈ। ਨਾਂਹ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ, ਨਾਂਹ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਤੇ, ਮੌਤ ਨੇ ਬੋਦੀ ਆ ਫੜੀ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਮਿੱਤਰ, ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਗੱਡੀਆਂ, ਮਾਲ-ਅਸਬਾਬ, ਧਨ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਸਾਰੀ ਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ, ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਸਮਝੋ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਹੀ ਅਸਲ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ।੧। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕਈ ਜੁਗ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਥੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਹੁਣ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਲੱਭਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀ ਇਹੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ?੨।੨।The mind remains in the mind. He does not meditate on the Lord, nor does he perform service at sacred shrines, and so death seizes him by the hair. || 1 || Pause || Wife, friends, children, carriages, property, total wealth, the entire world — know that all of these things are false.  ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ ਨਾਵੈ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਧੰਨੁ ਜਿਨ ਇਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਦੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥ ਕਲੀ ਕਾਲ ਵਿਚਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਭ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹੰਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੨॥ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕਾ ਧਨੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਿ ਡੂਬੈ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥ ਆਪੇ ਸਾਜੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਚਿ ਲਾਏ ਸੋਈ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਆਗੈ ॥੪॥੮॥ ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। (ਪਰ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਕਿਸੇ ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀ ਨੂੰ) ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਝਗੜਿਆਂ-ਭਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਿਸ ਮੁੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਕਿਤਨੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਦੇ ਉਕਾਈ ਨਾਹ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਗ੍ਰਹਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਇਹ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਹਰੇਕ ਕੰਮ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, (ਸੋ ਜੋ ਅਸੀ ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਗਹੁ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਾਰੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਅਸੀ ਨਿਰੋਲ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਾਂ। ਇਹ ਹਉਮੈ (ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। (ਗੁਰੂ ਭੀ ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲਾ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਧਨ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਬੜਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ (ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) । ਤੇ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਆਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦਾ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੩।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਵਿਚ) ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ, ਤੇ) ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ।੪।੮।Dhanasree third Mahal : O brother! The name of God is of astonishing power. (But this name) the Lord Himself makes it heard (to a fortunate person). In this life full of conflicts, that person attains the name of God who remains in the presence of the Guru. 1. Stay.O brother! It cannot be told at what price the name of God can be obtained and how powerful this name is. Those people who have fixed their mind on the name of God are the fortunate ones. The person who accepts the advice of the Guru who never gets tired, that person constantly establishes the thought of the qualities of the Lord (within himself). But the Lord gives this thought only to the one on whom He Himself bestows. 1.O brother! We do every work of our lives only with the support of ego, (so when we think about it in our) mind (with wheat), then because of this ego, we are completely foolish. This ego can be removed (from within us) only by the grace of the Guru. (The Guru also unites) him on whom the Lord Himself bestows His grace. 2.(O brother! This worldly wealth of Maya (creates) great ego (in the mind of man). And, a man who remains immersed in ego does not attain respect (in the presence of the Lord). O brother! Leaving aside ego, one always remains in spiritual bliss. O brother! I, taking the advice of the Guru, keep praising and glorifying that ever-lasting Lord. 3.O brother! That Creator Himself creates (the entire creation); apart from Him there is no other (with such a state). The man whom the Creator connects (with His) ever-lasting Name, that man appears (in the remembrance of the Name). O Nanak! The person who meditates on the Name always remains in spiritual bliss (both in this world and) in the next world. 4.8. 

ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਘਰੁ ੧ ਚਉਪਦੇ    ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਭਗਤ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਮ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਖੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੁਮ ਜੁ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਥਰ ਨੀਰਿ ਡੁਬਤ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਖਣ ਹਮ ਤਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਬਿਖੁ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਲਗਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਬੈਸੰਤਰਿ ਤਾਇਓ ਮਲੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਟਿਤ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨੁ ਜਪਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਜਗਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਪਾਰੀ ॥ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧॥ ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ ਪਾਪੀ ਹਾਂ, ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪੱਥਰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ (ਪੱਥਰ-ਦਿਲਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈ।ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਸੰਤ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ (ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, (ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।੧। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੋਨਾ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਤਪਾਇਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮੈਲ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੰਬੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਹਰ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੰਗਾਲ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਸੋਧਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤਾਂਹੀਏਂ) ਮੈਂ (ਭੀ) ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਐਸੀ ਦਵਾਈ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਰ ਕਰਨੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਖੁੰਝਦੀ। ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ (ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਮੁਕਾ ਸਕੀਦੀ ਹੈ।੩। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ! ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ! ਹੇ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ! ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ! ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਤੇ, (ਇਸ ਵਿਕਾਰ-ਭਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖ ਲੈ।੪।੧। DHANAASAREE, FOURTH MEHL, FIRST HOUSE, CHAU-PADAS: ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU: Those Saints and devotees who serve the Lord have all their sins washed away. Have Mercy on me, O Lord and Master, and keep me in the Sangat, the Congregation that You love. || 1 || I cannot even speak the Praises of the Lord, the Gardener of the world. We are sinners, sinking like stones in water; grant Your Grace, and carry us stones across. || Pause || The rust of poison and corruption from countless incarnations sticks to us; joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, it is cleaned away. It is just like gold, which is heated in the fire, to remove the impurities from it. || 2 || I chant the chant of the Name of the Lord, day and night; I chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, and enshrine it within my heart. The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, is the most perfect medicine in this world; chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I have conquered my ego. || 3 || The Lord, Har, Har, is unapproachable, of unfathomable wisdom, unlimited, all-powerful and infinite. Show Mercy to Your humble servant, O Life of the world, and save the honor of servant Nanak. || 4 || 1 ||

 ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੪ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਜੀਅ ਕੇ ਬੰਧਨਾ ਜੇਤੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਠਵਰ ਨ ਪਾਵਹੀ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਫਿਕਾ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਬਧੇ ਮਾਰੀਅਹਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਕਾਲੈ ਉਠਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਅਰਥ: ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਕੰਮ ਜੀਵ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਬੰਧਨ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਹ ਕਰਮ ਹੋਰ ਵਧੀਕ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰਾ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ (ਤੇ ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਮਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਫਿੱਕੇ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ; (ਇਸ ਦਾ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਇਹ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੀਵ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਜਮਪੁਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਬੱਧੇ ਮਾਰੀਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ (ਤੁਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ) ਜੱਗ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਾਲਖ ਖੱਟ ਕੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੧।ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਇਕਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰਨਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੁਲ ਕਾ ਕਰਨਿ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ਅਰਥ: ਕਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਸਵਾਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੁਲ ਭੀ ਤਾਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਚਾਟਸਾਲ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਪਾਧਾ ਆਪੇ ਚਾਟੜੇ ਪੜਣ ਕਉ ਆਣੇ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਕਰੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ ॥ ਇਕ ਥੈ ਪੜਿ ਬੁਝੈ ਸਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਇਕ ਥੈ ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਇਆਣੇ ॥ ਇਕਨਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਏ ਜਾ ਆਪਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਸਚੇ ਭਾਣੇ ॥ ਜਿਨਾ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਚੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਜਾਣੇ ॥੧੧॥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਾਠਸ਼ਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸਤਾਦ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਇਕ ਥਾਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਇਕ ਥਾਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਞਾਣੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਹਰੀ! ਜਦੋਂ ਆਪ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚੰਗੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਧੁਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੁਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਆਦਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੧੧।SHALOK, FOURTH MEHL:Without serving the True Guru, the deeds which are done are only chains binding the soul. Without serving the True Guru, they find no place of rest. They die, only to be born again — they continue coming and going. Without serving the True Guru, their speech is insipid. They do not enshrine the Naam, the Name of the Lord, in the mind. O Nanak, without serving the True Guru, they are bound and gagged, and beaten in the City of Death; they depart with blackened faces. || 1 || THIRD MEHL: Some wait upon and serve the True Guru; they embrace love for the Lord’s Name. O Nanak, they reform their lives, and save their generations as well. || 2 || PAUREE: He Himself is the school, He Himself is the teacher, and He Himself brings the students to be taught. He Himself is the father, He Himself is the mother, and He Himself makes the children wise. In one place, He teaches them to read and understand everything, while in another place, He Himself makes them ignorant. Some, You summon to the Mansion of Your Presence within, when they become pleasing to Your Mind, O True Lord. That Gurmukh, whom You have blessed with greatness — that humble being is known and respected in Your True Court. || 11 ||

ਤਿਲੰਗ ਮਃ ੧ ॥ ਇਆਨੜੀਏ ਮਾਨੜਾ ਕਾਇ ਕਰੇਹਿ ॥ ਆਪਨੜੈ ਘਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੋ ਕੀ ਨ ਮਾਣੇਹਿ ॥ ਸਹੁ ਨੇੜੈ ਧਨ ਕੰਮਲੀਏ ਬਾਹਰੁ ਕਿਆ ਢੂਢੇਹਿ ॥ ਭੈ ਕੀਆ ਦੇਹਿ ਸਲਾਈਆ ਨੈਣੀ ਭਾਵ ਕਾ ਕਰਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੋ ॥ ਤਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਲਾਗੀ ਜਾ ਸਹੁ ਧਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੋ ॥੧॥ ਇਆਣੀ ਬਾਲੀ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੇ ਜਾ ਧਨ ਕੰਤ ਨ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ ਕਰਣ ਪਲਾਹ ਕਰੇ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ਸਾ ਧਨ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ ਵਿਣੁ ਕਰਮਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਹੀ ਜੇ ਬਹੁਤੇਰਾ ਧਾਵੈ ॥ ਲਬ ਲੋਭ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਕੀ ਮਾਤੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥ ਇਨੀ ਬਾਤੀ ਸਹੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਹੀ ਭਈ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਇਆਣੀ ॥੨॥ ਜਾਇ ਪੁਛਹੁ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਵਾਹੈ ਕਿਨੀ ਬਾਤੀ ਸਹੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਭਲਾ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੀਐ ਹਿਕਮਤਿ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਈਐ ॥ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਤਉ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਈਐ ॥ ਸਹੁ ਕਹੈ ਸੋ ਕੀਜੈ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੋ ਦੀਜੈ ਐਸਾ ਪਰਮਲੁ ਲਾਈਐ ॥ ਏਵ ਕਹਹਿ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਭੈਣੇ ਇਨੀ ਬਾਤੀ ਸਹੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੩॥ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਈਐ ਤਾ ਸਹੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਅਉਰੁ ਕੈਸੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥ ਸਹੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਸੋ ਦਿਨੁ ਲੇਖੈ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਸਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾ ਸਭਰਾਈ ॥ ਐਸੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜ ਕੀ ਮਾਤੀ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਭਾਇ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਸਾਇ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਚਖਣਿ ਕਹੀਐ ਸਾ ਸਿਆਣੀ ॥੪॥੨॥੪॥O most ignorant being! Why do you take such a bad pride? God is in your own heart-house, why do you not enjoy His (meeting)? O naive woman! The husband-Lord is dwelling near you (within you), why do you wander around in search of the outside world (forests etc.)? (If you want to see Him, then put the threads of fear and reverence (of the Lord) in your eyes of knowledge, and adorn yourself with the garland of the Lord's love.A woman is considered to be blessed with a happy marriage and attached to the Lord's feet only when the Lord-Husband loves her.1.(But) what can even an ignorant woman do if that woman is not pleasing to the Lord-Khasam? No matter how much such a living being may beg, she cannot find the palace of her husband-Lord. (The truth is that) no matter how much a living being may run and run, nothing is achieved without the gaze of the Lord's mercy.If a living being remains intoxicated with the lust of the tongue, greed and ego (the former), and remains always immersed in the attachment of Maya (to wealth), then the Lord is not found for these reasons. That living being remains ignorant (who remains intoxicated with vices and yet thinks that she can please her husband-Lord).2.(Those who have found their husband-Lord, of course) go and ask those who are blessed with a happy marriage, by what means one obtains the Lord of the worlds, (they answer that) give up cunning and pushing, consider whatever the Lord does as good and accept it (with all one's heart), attach your mind to the feet of the Lord, by whose love one obtains the Name and the things, do whatever the Lord of the worlds commands, surrender your body and mind to Him, that's all! Use this fragrance (for life). The women who are blessed with a happy marriage say that O sister! By these means alone one obtains the Lord of the worlds. 3.The Lord of the worlds is obtained only when one removes ego. Without this, any other endeavor is a vain and deceitful endeavor. Consider that day (of life) successful when the husband-Lord looks with the eyes of mercy, (on whom) the wife (of the husband) looks (with mercy) as if she finds nine treasures.O Nanak! The wife who is dear to her husband-Lord is blessed with a happy destiny, she attains respect and honor in the (worldly) family. The one who remains imbued with the love of the Lord, the one who remains intoxicated with steadfastness, the one who remains engrossed in the love of the Lord day and night, she is called beautiful, of beautiful form, intelligent and wise.4.2.4.

ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਘਰੁ ੧ ਚਉਪਦੇ    ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਭਗਤ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਮ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਖੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੁਮ ਜੁ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਥਰ ਨੀਰਿ ਡੁਬਤ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਖਣ ਹਮ ਤਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਬਿਖੁ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਲਗਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਬੈਸੰਤਰਿ ਤਾਇਓ ਮਲੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਟਿਤ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨੁ ਜਪਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਜਗਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਪਾਰੀ ॥ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ ਪਾਪੀ ਹਾਂ, ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪੱਥਰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ (ਪੱਥਰ-ਦਿਲਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਸੰਤ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ (ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, (ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੋਨਾ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਤਪਾਇਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮੈਲ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੰਬੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਹਰ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੰਗਾਲ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਸੋਧਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤਾਂਹੀਏਂ) ਮੈਂ (ਭੀ) ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਐਸੀ ਦਵਾਈ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਰ ਕਰਨੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਖੁੰਝਦੀ। ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ (ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਮੁਕਾ ਸਕੀਦੀ ਹੈ।੩।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ! ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ! ਹੇ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ! ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ! ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਤੇ, (ਇਸ ਵਿਕਾਰ-ਭਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖ ਲੈ।੪।੧।Those Saints and devotees who serve the Lord have all their sins washed away. Have Mercy on me, O Lord and Master, and keep me in the Sangat, the Congregation that You love. || 1 || I cannot even speak the Praises of the Lord, the Gardener of the world. We are sinners, sinking like stones in water; grant Your Grace, and carry us stones across. || Pause || The rust of poison and corruption from countless incarnations sticks to us; joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, it is cleaned away. It is just like gold, which is heated in the fire, to remove the impurities from it. || 2 || I chant the chant of the Name of the Lord, day and night; I chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, and enshrine it within my heart. The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, is the most perfect medicine in this world; chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I have conquered my ego. || 3 || The Lord, Har, Har, is unapproachable, of unfathomable wisdom, unlimited, all-powerful and infinite. ਗੂਜਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਬਲੁ ਹੈ ਥੋਰਾ ॥ ਅਨਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਪੇਖੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਚਾਲੈਭੋਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਆਹਿ ਨ ਮੋਰਾ ॥ ਮੋਹਿ ਅਨਾਥ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਗੁਣੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਮੈ ਆਹਿਓ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰਾ ਧੋਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਚਰਣ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਾ ਜੋਰਾ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਹੋਰਾ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੬॥ਅਰਥ:  ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੇਰਾ (ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਸਰਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਨਿਆਸਰੇ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ।1। ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਂ, ਪਿਉ, ਭਰਾ, ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ = ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਰੰਗ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇਵੇਖ ਲਏ ਹਨ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਭੀ) ਕੁਝ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ (ਜੀਵ ਦੇ) ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।1। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ– ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ।2।7। 16।GUJRI, FIFTH MEHL:Mother, father, siblings, children and relatives � their power is insignificant. I have seen the many pleasures of Maya, but none goes with them in the end. || 1 || O Lord Master, other than You, no one is mine. ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਜਤਨ ਕਰੈ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਡਹਕਾਵੈ ਓਹੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ ਪਾਪ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਮੂਕਰਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਭੇਖ ਕਰੈ ਨਿਰਬਾਨੈ ॥੧॥ ਜਾਨਤ ਦੂਰਿ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨੇਰਿ ॥ ਉਤ ਤਾਕੈ ਉਤ ਤੇ ਉਤ ਪੇਖੈ ਆਵੈ ਲੋਭੀ ਫੇਰਿ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਤੁਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨ ਭਰਮਾ ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਤੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥੫॥੩੬॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ (ਲਾਲਚੀ ਪਖੰਡੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ (ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ) ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉੱਧਰ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ) ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਰਕਤਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਫਿਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਮੁੱਕਰ ਭੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਇਹ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਤੋਂ) ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-(ਪਹਿਰਾਵਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਈਦਾ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਹੈ ਭਗਤ ਹੈ।੨।੫।੩੬।DHANAASAREE, FIFTH MEHL:People try to deceive others, but the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows everything. They commit sins, and then deny them, while they pretend to be in Nirvaanaa. || 1 || They believe that You are far away, but You, O God, are near at hand. Looking around, this way and that, the greedy people come and go. || Pause || As long as the doubts of the mind are not removed, liberation is not found.  ਟੋਡੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਸਦਾ ਖੁਆਰੀ ॥ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਧੋਖਾ ਕਹਾ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਓਟ ਤੁਹਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨਜੋ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਬਲਨਾ ਸਰਪ ਜੈਸੇ ਅਰਜਾਰੀ ॥ ਨਵ ਖੰਡਨ ਕੋ ਰਾਜੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਅੰਤਿ ਚਲੈਗੋ ਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਗੁਣ ਤਿਨ ਹੀਗਾਏ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਸੋ ਸੁਖੀਆ ਧੰਨੁ ਉਸੁ ਜਨਮਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੨॥੨॥ ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਇਆਂ ਸਦਾ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਬੇ-ਪਤੀ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ) ਧੋਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਦਾ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਿਤਨੀ ਭੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਨੀ ਹੈ (ਉਹ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੱਪ (ਆਪਣੀ) ਉਮਰ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਮਰ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਲੰਮੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) । (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂਵਾਂਜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੇ) ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਭੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ, ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਗਾਏ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਮੁਬਾਰਿਕ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅਜੇਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।੨।TODEE, FIFTH MEHL:Forgetting the Lord, one is ruined forever.
