Popcorn Pulse 228: Last Dare

This week on Anime Pulse we got vtuber awards, anime dragging its feet, and dancing moments. Up first IRL news has Joseph going back to the gym, and Andrew attended a big fighting game event with some of the top player in the world. Then in the industry news the vtuber awards just wrapped up and announced the winner, and Japanese artists on X are up in arms over blackface being applied to Dandadan. Lastly in the reviews Joseph wades through a really lackluster series of events in a fantasy anime to get to the good stuff, and Andrew brews up a barrel of whisky that will be aged for at least 15 years.

We want everyone to reach under your seats and pull out the old shoe box you find there. Within that box, there should be an old bit of newspaper. This week on Anime Pulse we got goblin reincarnation, deer meat, and sweet sweet revenge. Up first Joseph briefly mentions his IRL boss has gifted him some deer meet to cook up and consume, and Andrew asks us what the best moments of payback are in anime for this week's community question. Then in the industry news we get confirmation that VISA Japan is against allowing you to buy anything lewd, and a job listing is posted asking for men to talk to Japanese girls online. And finally in the reviews Joseph is killed by a yandere, reincarnates into a goblin, and later evolves into an ogre. Meanwhile Andrew retires from being a killer yakuza member to find great deals at the super market, cook melas for his wife, and wear pink aprons.

Up first Joseph shelved BioShock after a bug cost him some time, and Andrew was down with the sickness. Then in the industry news a rather young idol is hoping Santa will visit her this year, and some big names in the vtubing community are graduating. Finally in the reviews Joseph gets an extension on his life thanks to all those apples he eats, and Andrew is engaged to a space oni against his will.

It might be November and that means spooky season is technically over. That doesn’t mean it’s gone from our minds. As they used to say, off the charts but not off our hearts.
