The Floor is Lava

Hey listeners! Today is our second episode on the floor is lava podcast series. This episode we will be placing our focus on the covid 19 pandemic and what effects it has had on the environment; in specific on climate. As we know covid 19 has impacted our lives in many ways, but not exclusively the closure of airports and schools. Environmental factors have also been affected by the covid 19 pandemic, so listen to this podcast to understand more about how and why. In this episode we also talk about two interesting articles so listen to the end to hear about that. Hello I am Jenna and I am Menam, and this is the floor is lava podcast. We will be uploading a podcast every other Saturday all about geography. Today is our first episode and we the theme is “The world as a village”. To understand the problems in our world in a more simplified manner, we have shrunk the world of 7.8 billion people (as of June 2020) into a village of 100 people. This is done is by using ratios of the world and applying it to 100 people. This means that one person in this “global village” accounts for approximately 7 million people (for context this is the same as the population of Thailand).
