Red Oak council members voted 4-1 for rezoning nearly 830 acres from an agricultural district to planned development for a “high tech industrial park,” which city officials said would be “conducive to data center uses.” In other news, Brad Heppner, the founder of Beneficient, a Dallas-based financial services company, was convicted by a jury late last week on numerous fraud charges related to a multiyear, $150 million loan scheme; on Tuesday, authorities were digging in the backyard of an Everman home connected to the disappearance of a 6-year-old boy in 2023; and it was a "pleasant surprise," when Frisco King actor Samuel L. Jackson stopped in for a midday meal at Madea's Down Home Cooking in Dallas-Fort Worth.
