Biomarkers for Lipedema?

- Today I’d like to tell you about a study by Alexandre Amato and Daniel Benitti, surgeons in Brazil.- The title of this open-access review article is *Efficacy of Liposuction in the Treatment of Lipedema: A Meta-Analysis*.- It was published in the peer-reviewed journal *Cureus* in February 2024.

In this episode, Kelly Bell recounts his journey of developing lymphedema throughout his body as a result of a treatment for reflux, which inadvertently introduced a plastic polymer into his lymphatic system. Today, I want to share an excerpt from an interview with Dr. Joanna Dudek, featured in our Lipedema & Keto Worldwide Summit in 2017. Dr. Dudek is a psychologist and nutritionist specializing in contextual behavioral therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP). She conducted research on the psychological aspects of living with lipedema as a PhD student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw, Poland, where she is now an instructor. Additionally, Joanna serves on the Medical Advisory Board for the Lipedema Project. In this excerpt, Dr. Dudek discusses psychological flexibility and how this practice helps women with lipedema lead meaningful lives despite their chronic illness. She also shares small actions women can take to enhance their self-care and self-compassion.

Today, I want to share details about a study conducted by researchers from Tennessee, Texas, and California. The lead author of this study is Adri Chakraborty. Titled Indications of Peripheral Pain, Dermal Hypersensitivity, and Neurogenic Inflammation in Patients with Lipedema, and published in the peer-reviewed International Journal of Molecular Sciences in September 2022.
