THOUGHTCRIME Ep. 145 — Crime at Cornell? Top TV Shows?

At the 2023 Educators Summit, Charlie argues that education must do far more than just fill students with information. It also must teach them to recognize truth, discern good from evil, and live virtuous lives. Charlie explains why wisdom requires discipline, moral formation, and a foundation in biblical truth. If schools abandon wisdom, Charlie warns, the consequences extend far beyond the classroom. A new wave of student riots are bringing France to its knees, as the children of migrants torch their schools. Blake explains how these riots — heavily immigrant, pushed by the far left — represent a huge threat to America, and a warning of our potential future. Jonathan Keeperman then talks about the Indian immigration question and more broadly how to fix the "winning too much" problem on the right. Then there is a great AMA hour with subscribers, with Danny joining to answer questions on data centers, Charlie's favorite places in Arizona, how Charlie organized his day, and more. As the midterms approach, an unsettling problem has become obvious: As the Trump Administration delivers on its biggest promises, like fixing the border and stopping trans lunacy, voters become forgetful rather than grateful. How can conservatives win elections if fixing up America is actually politically harmful? Tim Parrish explains why President Trump remains so bullish on "super intelligence." Scott Greer responds to the ultra-viral Cornell fraternity story, and Evan Barker explains the real reason that black majority schools are failing — and it's not due to lack of money. The battle our country is in right now is not the midterms: It's a long, multi-election struggle for the ultimate fate of America. Steve Deace joins for a full hour to make the case for how conservatives should message in the final weeks of the midterm battle, and how we should move forward regardless of what the result is. Plus, Charlie was passionate about saving kids from the college scam. The show explains an excellent new Trump policy that will deflate that scam and is making the left go berserk. Sen. Eric Schmitt presents his plan to improve college sports. California has become a state where everyone gets guaranteed housing, health care, college, and even smartphones — just as long as they're illegal immigrants rather than citizens. Kenneth Schrupp of City Journal exposes the blue state scam so severe most ordinary Americans simply refuse to believe it. Sean Davis reacts to a clueless GOP ad targeting its own base. Actor Kevin Sorbo touts the new edition of his Ronald Reagan biopic and talks about the legacy America's 40th president leaves today. You cannot build a thriving society without being willing to say that some ways of living are better than others — and in  particular, that the Christian way of living is better than everything else. Charlie had that lesson and more to impart at the Sun Valley Policy Forum, during an energetic Q&A that showed him at the peak of his explanatory prowess.
