The Valley Girl accent is a style of speaking associated with young women from California's San Fernando Valley (Northern suburbs of Los Angeles) in the 1970s and 1980s. It became famous through movies, TV shows, and pop culture, and many people now use "Valley Girl" to describe both an accent and a speaking style.As you know, it can be extremely useful to focus on one dialect/accent of a foreign language when trying to learn how to sound like a native speaker.
