The first female in more than 200 years set to be executed in the state of Tennessee, is fighting to stay alive. 50-year-old Christa Gail Pike is scheduled to die by lethal injection Sept 30th of this year. Her attorneys have filed a lawsuit to try and stop the execution, saying it violates both her constitutional rights and religious beliefs. 6 out of 7 Florida State Supreme Court Justices ruled against the prosecution’s request that James Duckett be executed tonight at 6 pm for the 1987 rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl.
