Guest host Dr. Kristine Goins and Samantha Horn, Executive Director of Floating Doctors, delve into the reality of medical missions and community health work in Panama. Samantha shares how the organization went from a single sailboat in Haiti to serving 24 coastal communities in Panama. They discuss the need for culturally sensitive healthcare delivery, the importance of sustainability in global health efforts, and how doctors can get involved without overwhelming local resources. With a focus on empowering communities rather than creating dependency, this episode offers a unique perspective on effective international healthcare initiatives.
