Marine Ecologist and Biogeochemist - Professor Alex Poulton
Professor Alex Poulton is a Marine Ecologist and a Biogeochemist at Heriot-Watt University, with over 25 years of experience in marine science and research. His work focuses on marine ecology and ocean biogeochemistry, with a particular interest in how marine organisms drive the cycling of essential elements throughout the world’s oceans.
Alex’s research has taken him across the globe, allowing him to study marine systems in a wide range of environments. While he values the opportunity to work internationally, he has also witnessed first-hand the growing impacts of global warming on ocean ecosystems and the planet as a whole.
Alex first met Lewis over 20 years ago, and in this episode he reflects on that long-standing connection and shares his hopes for future collaboration with the Nautilus Project.
