For example, we drive by ARCO gas stations every day, but have we ever thought about why it’s called ARCO? ARCO stands for the American Richfield Company

Here are some more we bet you never thought of:

GEICO: Government Employees Insurance Company

(Then they got a lizard mascot and the rest if history)

HBO: Home Box Office

(The original ideas was a place to watch movies at home)

CVS: Consumer Value Store

EPCOT: Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow

NABISCO: National Biscuit Company

AT&T: American Telephone and Telegraph (it’s been around since 1885)

BMW: Bavarian Motor Works

ARBY'S: Is named for the Raffel Brothers who started it. Raffell Brothers= R.B.= Arby’s. It is NOT named for roast beef.

LULULEMON: Means literally nothing! Just some words that tested well with focus groups.
