Remember that our entire lives revolve around "CASH FLOW!" And also keep in mind, that we likley need to average an ROI 14%/year on our portfolio, in order to KEEP PACE or stay ahead of the TRUE rate of inflation.

If you got $600/month for 12 months/year.  600 X 12 = $7,200/year of income. To calculate ROI =  $7,200/$300,000 = ROI (return on investment) of 0.024 = 2.4%/year. That is a very crappy ROI. And this calcuation is BEFORE we factor in the year-to-year inflation rate!

Above I have just shared the math that proves WHY I don't like "safe" investments or "guaranteed" money. That type of money often comes with a cost because the entity "guaranteeing" you a monthly check IS ABSOLUTELY investing what USED to be your money, at MUCH, MUCH, MUCH higher rates of return and keeping the difference. Food for thought. AND...your "guranteed" monthly check often does NOT ever increase, so you don't EVER get an adjustment for INFLATION! Instead you are living on a "fixed income."

If you have money sitting in a PREVIOUS employer's 401K account... you can ROLL ALL of that money into a Traditional IRA and this is NOT a taxable event. Then once the money is in your traditional IRA, you can invest it any way you choose, at MUCH, MUCH, MUCH higher rates of return.

Have courage today, to pick one thing, and work on your dreams. We will talk again soon.

I'm not a financial advisor. This podcast is for education/entertainment purposes only. You will need to do your own research and accept responsibility for the results of any money you choose to invest. I love using Schwab.com to buy/sell stocks/ETF's/closed end funds/options. Schwab has a very user friendly app/website and their customer service is excellent. I can easily get to speak to a human being whenever I have questions.
