The U.S. Supreme Court has taken up the arguments over President Trump’s executive order to put an end to birthright citizenship, which grants citizenship to anyone born in the United States, regardless of their parents’ nationality or immigration status. The justices on the country’s highest court seem skeptical of Trump’s order. The Massachusetts Department of Health wants to take away pepper spray and non-lethal restraints from Tewksbury State Hospital’s public safety officers. The state-run hospital has a large mental health patient population that includes criminal defendants who have psychiatric and behavioral issues. The hospital has a history of problematic incidents involving patients who’ve attacked healthcare workers. The nurses’ union that represents Tewksbury Hospital said the hospital’s public safety officers “absolutely need the tools” to keep the staff safe. MA Rep. This week the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments over President Trump’s executive order to end birthright citizenship in the United States. President Trump attended the first day of oral arguments Wednesday, making him the first sitting president to attend arguments at the country’s highest court. During the session, the nine justices appeared skeptical of Trump’s order with Chief Justice John Roberts appearing to dismiss a contention by U.S. Solicitor General D. John Sauer defending Trump's order saying, "Eight billion people are one plane ride away from having a child who's a U.S. citizen." It will be an exciting time for Bostonians as the World Cup comes to Boston this summer. There have been some fundraising concerns about making the massive event as grand as originally envisioned. According to multiple sources, President Trump has fired Pam Bondi as attorney general. Reports are coming out saying it does not appear there is any bad blood between the President and Bondi, that they want her to work elsewhere within the administration.
