Lurch and I are joined by Ken Madden from Ciro and we talk about counterfeit and knock off motorcycle products.   Ken is a Senior Product Designer at Ciro and he just happens to also be a Patreon supporter of Law Abiding Biker.  Ken, along with Ciro and other motorcycle parts innovators and creators are being ripped off.  Overseas companies that do not respect patents are recreating inferior version of the hard work others put in.  Knockoff motorcycle products may look like a bargain up front, but they come with some serious downsides that riders often don't realize until it's too late. In this podcast episode, I'm joined by Lurch and Patreon Member (and Indian Motorcycle rider) Anthony Peters.  We talk about the big announcement that Polaris sold off it's majority ownership of Indian Motorcycles.  In one of the biggest shake-ups the motorcycle world has seen in years, Polaris has announced that it's selling a majority stake in Indian Motorcycle to the private equity firm Carolwood LP.  This move has many riders and industry insiders asking the same question — is Indian Motorcycle in trouble, or are they gearing up for something big?  It's a bold, unexpected shift that could either ignite new growth or put the brand in a risky position. Let's take a closer look at what's really happening and why it matters. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE According to Polaris, this separation will allow both companies to focus more strategically on what they do best.  For Polaris, that means doubling down on its most profitable segments: off-road vehicles, snowmobiles, and boats.  Indian Motorcycle only accounts for about 7% of Polaris' total annual revenue — roughly $478 million.  By selling Indian, Polaris expects to increase annual earnings by $50 million and boost earnings per share by $1.00, which is a solid short-term win for shareholders.  For Indian, this could mean more freedom to innovate and make faster decisions without having to compete for corporate attention within Polaris' massive portfolio. This is part two of a two-part series about our 2025 Canada motorcycle trip. In July of 2025, members of Law Abiding Biker™ Media along with members of the Sworn Few LEMC embarked on a 11-day, 4000-mile, Canadian cross-country motorcycle trip. This trip would take us out of Washington State and into the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta We stayed over in cities such as Williams Lake, Stewart, Watson Lake, Fort St. John, Hinton, Canmore, Revelstoke, and Kelowna. We ate at some good restaurants and some bad ones. We experienced good and bad weather and a few of the bikes experienced some mechanical problems that had to be fixed.
