"Never on schedule but always on time", Luis Martínez (The Big Chief Burrito) from 2AM Burrito and host of "Mi Gente show/2 Latinos and a Microphone" podcast, came to the show to talk about his life, his journey from Colombia and Uruguay to the streets of New York and San Diego.
As he describes in his own words:
"The 2 constants in my life growing up as an 80's kid of divorce were food and movies. Always eat well even if broke as if there was no tomorrow and always killing time when spending time with each of my parents separately at the movies. I remember seeing ET Tango and Cash and Jurasic park with my dad and I can also remember seeing What dreams may come and Titanic with my mother. A few years ago one of my films screened in the very same theater that I saw my first movie in San Diego with my mother in 15 years earlier.
I have always wanted to make movies and make people laugh and began my journey in NY in the 90's studying at the legendary HB STUDIOS while I began with thoughts of becoming an actor I later realized what I really wanted to do was direct...Many years later after talking about it I became friends with Brian and we started making movies. This is how far we have come so far but I plan to keep making movies big and small as my art as long as I can"
The story of 2AM Burrito is described in the episode, where Luis has been the producer of "Blacklisted", "Slap Worthy", "Alien Story" and "Vicious Meats", between other great productions.
His story with music is wide, it starts with Tango and ends in Hip-Hop, and during the episode we will highlight the songs that resonates with him the most.
Amazing conversation, and a life lesson for everyone. Beautiful journey. Thanks for coming to the show.
