Theater and Cycling

In the first half of the show our guest is Firoza Dadan, the bicycle mayor of Mumbai and founder of The Smart Commute Foundation. In the second half we speak with community activist Maurice Raeford, co-founder of the Invest in South DeKalb, Georgia, an organization centered on community-led development, including of cycling.

Alon and Nedra chat with Dañel Malán-González, Executive Director of the Milagro theater company in Portland about her bicycle history and how the company builds community via bike rides co-hosted with The Street Trust.

In the first half our guest is Corentin Roudaut of the Parisian cycling group Paris en Selle ('Paris in the Saddle') who will speak about his city's cycling transformation.   In the second half we speak with foreign correspondent and author Terrence Petty about writing Nazis at the Watercooler about the rise of fascism and cycling too.

In the first half our guest is Jim Middaugh, Chair of Portland's Bicycle Advisory Committee. In the second half Nedra speaks with Richa Poudyal, climate and campaign strategist and founder of The Sovereign Futures Project, a solutions-based magazine.

In the first half our guest is Dutch filmmaker and writer Peter Depeut whose latest work is the book  The Long Landscape: A Filmmaker Cycles the American West.    In the second half Nedra will speak with Joey Juhasz-Lukomski, Director of Bikeshare Operations at the Latino Equity Advocacy and Policy Institute.

In the first half our guest is Christopher Sweet, Professor and Information Literacy and Scholarly Communication Librarian at Illinois Wesleyan University and author of A History of Bicycling in Illinois: 160 Years of Booms and Busts. In the second half Nedra speaks with Lisa Watts, editor, avid runner, bicycle tourist, activist and author of Crossing Bridges: What Biking Up the East Coast Taught Me About Life After 60.

In the first half of the show our guest is Portland City Council member Tiffany Koyama Lane, a strong advocate for cycling. In the second half Nedra speaks with Ambar Wortham, transportation planner, media producer and oral historian.

In the first half our guest is professional adventure cyclist, route developer and community organizer Sarah Swallow who recently rode the new Golden Gravel Trail, a 3,700-mile route from the Oregon Coast to the Mississippi River. In the second half Nedra speaks with Sarah D. FioRito, Transportation and Mobility Coordinator for the City of Evanston, Illinois.

In the first half Nedra speaks with Ruben Alvarado, Executive Director of Portland's Community Cycling Center. In the second half Alon speaks with Marley Blonsky, co-founder and Executive Director of  All Bodies on Bikes, a national organization which aims to create and foster a size inclusive bike community.

In the first half our guest is Geologist and cyclist Ian Madin who has been the ride-along geologist for Cycle Oregon, a ride that brings together thousands of cyclists and works closely with local communities. In the second half of the show our guest is Nichole Hollis, the Safe Routes to School Manager for the Atlanta Department of Transportation.
