#199 I Celebrated My Bachelorette Party Sober! (Tips & Takeaways)

My mom joins me this week as we share and discuss some of our favourite sobriety quotes, mantras and affirmations! Some are mantras that truly helped keep us sober in the early days, while some are quotes that perfectly sum up the magic of a sober life. And all of them sparked some incredibly inspiring conversations! This week, I'm answering a question from a listener and chatting all about grey area drinking. It might feel even more challenging to come to the decision to get sober if you identify as a "grey area" drinker: you might be grappling with whether you fit the definition of an "alcoholic" or an "addict", you might be questioning whether you qualify for sobriety, or you might be doubting whether your drinking is really "bad enough" for you to quit. In this episode, I am tackling all of these challenges with you and sharing why you don't need to hit any sort of rock bottom to decide that alcohol is no longer serving you. If you identify as a "grey area" drinker or you're not sure where you fit on the spectrum of alcohol use, you don't want to miss this one!Join my community, the Happiest Sober HubGet my free download: 10 tips to help you through early sobrietyShop sober mugs & merchWatch my sober vlogsFollow me on InstagramShop my Amazon storefrontIf my content has helped you on your sober journey and you'd like to support my work, you can buy me a coffee.Thank you for supporting my podcast by supporting my sponsors! In this week's episode, my mom and I sit down for a conversation all about how sobriety shifts over time and gets SO much easier. We chat about my sister's recent wedding and the experience of being sober at her wedding compared to the challenges of my first time sober at a wedding. We talk about how sobriety becomes normal life and eventually alcohol isn't even a thought for us anymore (even though that once felt impossible to imagine!). And we talk about the importance of practicing a "growth" mindset rather than a "fixed" mindset in sobriety and in life. This was SUCH an amazing growth conversation both about sobriety and life in general - you don't want to miss this one!Book: "Mindset" by Carol DweckJoin my community, the Happiest Sober HubSubscribe to my newsletter for FREE sober tips & inspoShop sober mugs & merchWatch my sober vlogsFollow me on InstagramShop my Amazon storefrontShopMy favourite thingsIf my content has helped you on your sober journey and you'd like to support my work, you can buy me a coffee.Thank you for supporting my podcast by supporting my sponsors! Getting sober often comes with a big identity shift. We go from our love of drinking feeling like a huge part of our identity, to now sobriety being a big part of our identity. And with that shift, many of us experience imposter syndrome as we step into our sober lives. Do I really belong here? Did I really qualify for sobriety? Was I really that bad? Who am I now that I'm sober? If you're struggling with any of these questions, this conversation with my mom will be an incredibly helpful one!Join my community, the Happiest Sober HubSubscribe to my newsletter for FREE sober tips & inspoShop sober mugs & merchWatch my sober vlogsFollow me on InstagramShop my Amazon storefrontShopMy favourite thingsIf my content has helped you on your sober journey and you'd like to support my work, you can buy me a coffee.Thank you for supporting my podcast by supporting my sponsors! This week I'm answering a question from one of my happies: how to deal with judgment in sobriety. And not just judgment from others about being sober, but also judging other people for drinking! I've heard many people share that now that they're sober, they often find themselves judging others for drinking alcohol, and even feeling a little bit better than everybody else in sobriety. Is this bad? Is this normal?
