Hard to believe that it’s been ten years since the release of Ghostbusters: Answer the Call. And, while this film has run the gamut of discourse for those last ten years, there are still things to be said about the film all this time later. Why was it such an important next step in the franchise, why did it have a thankless task of following in the footsteps in giants as result of it, and with the advantage of time and distance — what is one thing we now wish they would have done (and is the recent success of Katie Dippold’s Widow’s Bay a taste of an alternate universe’s success)? All these things, plus some off-topic documentary chat and a whole lot of Troy complaining about how hot it is in this week’s show!

Troy and Chris dust off the mics (and dusty they were) to talk about the amazing new details we’ve received on the new Ghostbusters animated series coming to Netflix in 2027: “Ghostbusters: Night Shift!” We’ll break down what’s been revealed about the characters, the tone of the show, how we think it fits into the larger lore tapestry, and just where the heck did a Terror Dog puppy come from and can we get one too?

Like the man says, better late than never — here’s part two of Chris’ amazing conversation with John Lambert! As you heard in the first episode, Lambert has an encyclopedic memory of his time coming over to work on Boss Films’ first few titles, including the making of Ghostbusters. And, as you’ll hear, after two whole episodes we still didn't cover everything! Which means you should tune in to both parts and tell us your questions or the things you want to hear more about. Because sooner or later, we’re going to have to revisit another conversation with Mr. Lambert for a third part of discussion. So much more to hear this week, and so much more to discuss in the future!

The Super Halloween is upon us! What's that? What is a Super Halloween? Why, it's when Halloween falls on the perfect day of the week for All Hallows Eve... a Friday! And just in time for Super Halloween is our seasonal seasoning for your trick-or-treating, the annual WGBI Spooktacular. So have fun, stay safe, and look out for one another. There are monsters on the loose.

This week on the podcast, we’re remembering Harris Yulin, recapping Ghostbusters Day 2025, and talking about a GBFans thread asking if Ghostbusters has gone into dormancy once again. First up, Troy and Chris pay a little tribute to Ghostbusters II’s Judge Stephen “The Hammer” Wexler, played by the incredible character actor Harris Yulin, who passed last week at the age of 87. Then in somewhat of a news segment, the boys recap all the things that were revealed at Ghostbusters Day 2025 including Jason Reitman, McKenna Grace, and Carrie Coon showing up to meet and greet the fans, glowing Hasbro offerings, Crocs, and the Ghostbusters Give Back initiative, a great way for fan franchises to see their good deeds marked by the official Ghost Corps headquarters. Then, in the second half of the show, we ask each other a question that seems to be taxing our favorite message board haunt: has Ghostbusters gone dormant again? And do kids these days even know what dormancy of an IP is? Yeah, we’re old. That comes up too. But doesn’t it always?
