After 16 years at the helm of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, Rob Sinclair is set to step down. The man who - by his own admission - is partly responsible for the introduction of the retail distribution review has been a familiar figure for advisers for many years. He talks to FT Adviser editor Simoney Kyriakou about advocating for mortgage advisers post-credit crunch, why it is important to create a working climate where you can "debate things" and argue in a powerful and constructive way, and to have a clear, sharp focus on what the outcomes should be.
