New York Governor Kathy Hochul is appointing New York State Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor in the alleged sexual assault case at Cornell University and says she supports closing a “loophole” in state law that can make it nearly impossible for survivors to seek justice if they voluntarily consumed alcohol or drugs before an assault. Plus, sources tell CNN the pilot suspected of attacking the captain aboard a Flydubai flight this week was removed from a previous job at a different airline last year, over concerns about his extremist views.
