Stigmatizing language may be part of our daily interactions with patients without even realizing it. It can appear in charts, regardless of race, gender, gender identity, ability, or socioeconomic status, but it has been found to occur more frequently for groups who are traditionally marginalized. And what are we doing as preceptors to help our residents and students understand the importance of language in their patient interactions? Listen in to learn more.
