The Tricky Pronoun 'HO'! - Ho entens? - Intermediate Catalan - E43
In this episode of The Lazy Linguist, we're tackling another little Catalan word that can be surprisingly tricky: ho!
Following on from our previous episodes on direct and indirect object pronouns, we'll explore how ho works, when to use it, and how it differs from el, la, els and les.
You'll learn how to use ho to refer back to ideas, descriptions and things without specifying their gender, with plenty of practical examples like Ho sé (I know), És bonic? Sí, ho és! (Is it beautiful? Yes, it is!) and M'ho dones? (Can you give it to me?).
By the end of the episode, you'll have a better understanding of this small but incredibly useful word and feel more confident using it in everyday Catalan conversations.
