🎙️ Step back into the Golden Age of British Comedy with Brett’s Old Time Radio Show — it’s Hancock’s Half Hour night!

Tonight we’re rewinding to one of the greatest classic British radio comedies ever broadcast: Hancock’s Half Hour — written by legendary duo Galton & Simpson and starring the incomparable Tony Hancock, alongside Sid James, Bill Kerr, Kenneth Williams, and Hattie Jacques.

First aired between 1954 and 1961, Hancock’s Half Hour helped shape the modern sitcom, with razor-sharp writing, perfectly timed grumbles, and endlessly rewatchable (re-listenable!) situations — from the shabby digs at 23 Railway Cuttings, East Cheam, to Sid’s schemes and Hancock’s heroic overreactions. The humour still lands beautifully today.

Every Thursday I bring you a hand-picked gem from the old time radio archives — so grab your headphones, pour a cuppa, and enjoy a proper vintage radio sitcom the way it was meant to be heard: on the wireless.
