Wild on 7th- Episode #140 Cargo Shorts, Ham, and Brock Faber

Happy Easter Monday to the Wild on 7th faithful!  We hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Ryan and John are back in the studio this week to recap the latest Minnesota Wild games over their back to back weekend.  The guys pass out bouquets to nearly the entire roster, share their love for Kirill's bangs, Trenin's hits, and Easter ham, but the real star of this weeks show is the zyn Santa himself, #7 Brock Faber.  Brock graciously stopped by the Custom One Club at Grand Casino Arena following team picture day, and shared some laughs with Carts and Kinger.  Thankfully, Brock brought his mustache along for the ride, as all eyes look towards the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  Throw away your trimmer, because the playoffs are almost here!  

When it comes to siblings performing at the highest level, there are none higher on that list than the Wright Brothers...try to keep up here folks....and then a very close second, but with much higher odds of punching you in the face....are the Foligno brothers! Carts and King enter a full house at TRIA Rink this week for an amazing interview with these amazing humans. They run the brothers through rapid fire, they talk leadership, the Gudas fight, and more. There is a void in the State of Hockey that will never be filled, as we remember our colleague and friend Jessi Pierce, who's life, alongside her 3 children and family dog, was cut short in a tragic house fire on March 21st, in White Bear Lake, MN.  We will remember her and her infectious smile, and we will miss her around the rink and in the media scrum.  The game of hockey lost one of its biggest fans, and one of its many voices.  May you rest in peace Jessi, Hudson, Cayden, and Avery.   In support of Jessi and her children, Ryan Carter and John King share some stories and admiration about Jessi, and as she would, continue on to deliver the hockey content you all desire.  The guys spend some time talking about the Dallas Stars matchup over the weekend, and then welcome Minnesota Wild newcomer Michael McCarron to the show, for an awesome interview and the classic rapid fire segment.  

Trade deadline has passed, and the Minnesota Wild have clearly made the biggest splash in the league (that just so happened a month prior to the deadline) with Quinn Hughes. Carts and King connect this week after a flurry of pods surrounding Kirill and Zuccy, the boys high school hockey tournament and the trade deadline, so it's nice to be back in the studio for some good old fashion Wild on 7th banter! King was stuck in transit earlier this week, with a huge spring snow storm wreaking havoc on his travel plans, so we've made a couple pivots and here we are...a Wednesday pod. The guys breakdown a number of milestones happening for Minnesota Wild hockey, give some bouquets to Ryan Hartman, Equipment Manager Tony DeCosta, JoJo, Brodie, Bolds, and the list goes on! When it's all said and done, the main take away is that the Minnesota Wild are a legit team, possibly in the most legit position in franchise history, and the guys have their sights on the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The National Hockey League trade deadline has passed, and The Minnesota Wild have locked their roster for the 25-26 season. With alot of chatter around the league for the last month or so, Billy Guerin has made his deals, and the Wild can exhale and focus on finishing the regular season strong. Ryan Carter is joined by fellow sweet tooth Al Stalock at the Waldorf Astoria in Vegas, as the Wild warmup for tonights battle against the Knights, and Kinger holds it down in Saint Paul, where the Boys State Tourney is in full swing. Grab yourself a T-Rex cookie, exhale, and imagine the Stanley Cup Playoff run of your dreams, because we've got our team, and now we go!

Another special installment of Wild on 7th, as the Boys hit the ice at Grand Casino Arena for the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament.  Jack Jablonski joins Ryan Carter and John King for a full preview of the Boys tourney, from Class AA tilts, to Class A matchups.  The guys break it down and give you their predictions, for what is sure to be another amazing tournament in the state of hockey!  This isn't the hockey hair pod.....that one is likely a few days away still.  Let's Play Hockey!

When The Minnesota Wild are away, the State of Hockey still plays, and the Girls State High School Hockey Tournament kicks off this week at Grand Casino Arena, so Jack Jablonski joins us to weigh in on what to expect from the girls in Saint Paul. Kinger is also away this week, so Carts digs into the girls tourney, and gets Jack's take on what he has seen so far in the Olympics. Look for a boys tourney preview in the near future. The Olympic tournaments are heating up as well, and we will certainly break down these matchups as they come.

The opening ceremonies in Milan-Cortina are complete, and the Winter Olympic Games have begun, and what better way to celebrate the Winter Olympics than to be joined by Dan Brooks, son of 1980 USA Hockey coach Herb Brooks. Find a comfy chair, and maybe a blanket like King would use if he were sitting in Billy G's living room, because this pod has some stories. Listen to the behind the scenes stories from Dan, who at the time was just a 7th grade rink rat running around the olympic facilities, bumping elbows and asking for autographs, while the hockey world was changing right before his eyes. There is nothing more special to a hockey fan, than reliving the 1980 Miracle On Ice from someone who lived it. What a magical experience, and magical stories from Dan.
