He has the distinction of hosting the oldest / longest podcast on everything James Bond called "Being James Bond". He is also the author of 2 books called "Being James Bond", one which is out now, the second to be released in October. That podcast is the second program on film music he's hosted with the first being on WHIE radio in Georgia, where he was news director and station manager. David Lichty is the co host of a podcast on Jerry Goldsmith called The Goldsmith Odyssey. In this episode we explore the early career of Goldsmith, focusing on his work on radio and the early days of TV.  Rarely heard cues from Radio and TV scores and themes will be played and David provides some great insight on the beginnings of this composers prolific career. 

Our guest is a freelance classic soundtrack producer. He's been involved with many soundtrack releases and has worked with Film Score Monthly, Intrada, La-La Land Records, Quartet Records, Kritzerland, Mondo and Varese Sarabande. He's also worked on several animated soundtrack reissues for Walt Disney Records for CD and streaming. His most recent work that has caught the attention of soundtrack collectors was producing newly remixed scores for the James Bond films Man with the Golden Gun and Moonraker. Our discussion highlights many behind the scenes info on what it takes to get scores released with., in many cases, never before released cues. Brian Hughes has amassed an impressive collection of film posters over the last 40 years. This passion fueled his passion for films and film music. He has over 3000 soundtracks in his collection and over 600 posters. He particularly is fond of WWII films and the James Bond series. We discuss both genres...he has interesting insights into WWII films and we also discuss the current state of the Bond films. Our guest is an author, publisher, film historian and documentary filmmaker. His books include looking at the careers of Clint Eastwood, John Wayne and Sean Connery among others. He's also has written/co written books on James Bond (Incredible World of 007, The Essential James Bond.) His magazine, Cinema Retro, is devoted to films of the 60's and 70's. Our discussion was wide ranging and covered BTS stories of several classic films, his relationship with Bond Producer Cubby Broccoli and of course his favorite film scores.
