In this MINI episode of Tuna on Toast, Stryker talks to Matt and Brad Shultz from the band Cage the Elephant. In 2024, Cage the Elephant released their sixth album, Neon Pill, and Matt and Brad give Stryker all the details on how it was made. Neon Pill was especially important for Matt, their lead singer, who suffered through years of psychosis before getting the help he needed. He tells Stryker all about his journey, and how it inspired many of the songs on Neon Pill, including the title track. Another great song from the album is “Rainbow,” and Matt explains to Stryker how he instantly knew it was going to be special. Stryker also asks the guys about the band’s early goals, long before Cage the Elephant had massive hits songs and Grammy Awards. Matt and Brad also share some fond memories of their dad, a major musical influence in their lives, who passed away in 2020. In this episode of Tuna On Toast, Stryker chats with Abigail Morris, frontwoman of The Last Dinner Party. This U.K. band has quickly become popular all over the globe thanks to songs like "Sinner" and "Nothing Matters", and Abigail tells Stryker all about their rise in fame. The Last Dinner Party only played a handful of shows before getting offered a record deal, and it's been a whirlwind since then. Their debut album, 'Prelude to Ecstacy,' came out earlier this year, and Abigail tells Stryker all about recording it with producer James Ford. Stryker was lucky enough to catch The Last Dinner Party's first Los Angeles show in 2023, and Abigail shares with him her feelings about LA. There's also a new album from The Last Dinner Party, 'Prelude to Ecstasy: Acoustics and Covers.' Abigail explains why the band chose to cover such notable songs as Sparks' "This Town Ain't Big Enough for the Both of Us" and Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game." In this episode of Tuna on Toast, Stryker interviews Pennywise singer Jim Lindberg. Jim shares an array of stories from Pennywise history, from chaotic early shows, to landing their songs in surf videos (shoutout Greg Browning and Taylor Steele), to on-tour pranks. How did Brett Gurewittz from Bad Religion influence Pennywise? What was the early Southern California punk rock scene like? When did he know that Pennywise would be his life? Jim gives these stories and more. Over the years, Pennywise crossed paths with a long list of artists, and Jim mentions their history with Blink 182, The Offspring, No Doubt, Sublime and Fat Mike of NOFX (among others).  Jim Lindberg was also hugely important to Warped Tour, and he tells Stryker all about its creation. Jim also talks about Pennywise’s late bassist, Jason Thirsk, discussing his impact as well as how the band moved forward after his death. The song “Bro Hymn (Tribute)” was rewritten following Jason’s passing, and Jim explores the legacy of the tune. Jim’s solo project, The Black Pacific, has a new album called ‘Here Comes Our Wave’, and he details its recording and how the songs came together. In this Tuna on Toast episode, Stryker welcomes Dexter Holland and Noodles from The Offspring. The guys chat about the brand new album, SUPERCHARGED.  Dexter talks about his first time ever playing with Noodles in his living room and why they love being in a band.  Dexter tells Stryker how the song "Bad Habit" was inspired while also discussing the pressure of writing the album Ixnay on the Hombre......which of course was the follow up to SMASH which dropped in 1994.  Dexter and Noodles talk about playing early shows at house parties and gaining a fan base in Berkley, CA at Gilman Street. Dexter and Noodles tell the story of hooking up with both Ed Sheeran and Yungblud and what it's like inspiring such huge artists.  Stryker and the offspring chat about the song "You're Gonna Go Far Kid" and how that song came together and is now part of the billions streamed club on Spotify.  Stryker asks the guys about awards and the potential one day of being inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
