We begin our study of open carry in America's Constitutional tradition by spending time with Baird v. Bonta (2 Jan 2026, 9th Circuit) thru the top of page 11 (up to Roman Numeral II). The pro-Second-Amendment opinions, both of them that we take a look at, were written by Republican appointees (Trump, Republican US Senate). One can see the true heart--none at all--of the Democrats' so-called concern for the most vulnerable among us in Jaime Caetano v. Massachusetts. That is to say, one can see the Democrats' utter contempt for the most vulnerable among us, like Jaime Caetano. This case was decided decided just a month after Justice Scalia died, in March of 2016. They criminalized a woman for innocent conduct. The Republicans corrected this. Democrats and some Republicans have made the grave error of upending the true purpose of government : by criminalizing paradigmatically innocent conduct. Governments aren't supposed to do that. Where criminalization of innocent conduct has occurred, it needs to be decriminalized. All tyrannies have this in common : they criminalize innocent conduct. That's what makes a government evil.
