Season 2 Episode 61: High Performance Mindset: Satya Nadella

I just had a birthday and I think birthdays have a unique way of making us pause and reflect.  This year I wanted to do something deeper, asses not just what I've accomplished, but who I'm becoming.  I came up with 10 questions - a personal high performance audit.  Take this assessment with me and see where you're at. 

I was speaking to the BYU Women's soccer team and the technique of verbal grounding came up.  What do we do when fear shows up? When our body goes into fight or flight, we have to find a way back to calm and studies show a good way to do that is to talk to yourself! Let's discuss how.

This week we are doing a deeper dive into the third High Performance Mindset - Empathic Drive.  Satya Nedella is the CEO of Microsoft and embodies the High Performance Mindset and empathy became his competitive advantage.  He took Microsoft to another level by changing the culture and creating an environment of growth.  Emphathy is not weakness - it's awareness. 

Indra Nooyia, the former CEO of Pepsi Co, is a prime example of the High Performance Mindset of Empathic Drive - the ability to pursue extraordinary standards while genuinely caring about people. Ty discusses how Indra personifies this mindset and how we as leaders can as well.   

From our research study, I have identified 3 High Performance Mindsets.  The first mindset is "Relaxed Intensity" and no one demonstrates this High Performance Mindset better than Simone Biles.  Let's discuss.
